I am so excited! We are going to Disneyland next week. This is our first vacation since our diagnosis, so I am a little nervous about it. We got a hotel room with a kitchen to keep the eating out to a minimum, and I have been scouring all the message boards to read about other people's experiences at Disney. If anyone has recent Disneyland dining advice, I'd love to hear it.

C'mon, sing with me - It's a small world after all..... Very Happy

I started with Hotels.com, and they let you filter by amenities, one of which was kitchen/kitchenette. There were 2 or three matches there, but none had rooms available for when we wanted to go. We ended up buying a package instead, and our hotel will be the Hampton Inn and Suites in Anaheim. We went to the site getawaytoday.com, and put in the dates we wanted, and they came up with a list of hotels. Then I searched the page (ctrl + F on your keyboard) for the word kitchen. Check it out - you don't have to register or anything to do the search. Hope you find what you are looking for!

Thanks for the info. I know Disneyland is GF friendly but I would still feel better being able to cook if I wanted. One of the only downfalls of not staying in the park is dealing with the lines getting in. I think I'm willing to deal with the trade off for the piece of mind!

I live near Disneyland, and have heard Chef Chris speak at our g-f support group meetings. Here is what he said (in a nutshell):
Always ask to speak to the manager of any restaurant you want to eat at.
At the Carnation Cafe
Oscar's special , bacon, eggs and potatoes.
Gibson's Ice Cream Parlor
Dreyer's ice cream
Refreshment Corner
hot dogs and Kinnikinnick g-f buns
Plaza Inn
g-f pancakes, special potatoes, "fried" chicken, mashed ptatoes, vegs, hamburger
Tomorrowland:
Red Rocket Pizza
salads - chicken caesar, raspberry vinaigette, rice noodles
sauces - marinara, creme pesto, tomato basil
pizza - can be ready in 15 minutes
Club Buzz a hamburger location
breakfast - fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, potatoes
ask the manager for g-f bun for hamburger,
on bun: grilled cheese, veg sandwiches, chicken salad
Fantasyland:
Villagehouse - a hamburger location
g-f buns, fruit plate, hot dog (no bun)
Frontierland:
Rancho del Zocala
chicken tacos, ask about beef tacos, rice and beans, enchiladas
McDonalds - clistoga
french fries
Adventureland:
Tiki juice bar
Dole juice
Bango BBQ
skewers, no sauce or marinade
veg skewers
Riverbell Terrace
BBQ chicken
cole slaw, corn-on-the-cob, baked beans
New Orleans Square:
Blue Bayou (You'll need reservations)
Ask the manager or chef to help you
Cafe Orleans
ask manager or chef to help you
this restaurant was changing to a new menu in Nov. Is now a sit-down restaurant
French Market
no French fries here,
ask manager for help
Critter Country:
Hungry Bear
BBQ chicken salad
ask for Kraft pocket
Atkins diet burger - no bun, ranch dressing onlt
Fruit carts - there are 4 in the park. They are g-f
Popcorn is g-f
Turkey legs - g-f
Goofy's kitchen
waffles and pancakes

Storyteller's Cafe and Paradise Pier in the Grand Californian Hotel
ask for the manager. Almost anything can be made g-f.

I have had several meals at Storyteller's. It's a lovely upscale restaurant. Not inexpensive, but very good. The food is wonderful, and they will make nearly anything on the menu g-f. Don't worry about getting glutened in Disneyland, have fun!
