Hey there!
Believe it or not, I actually made it in to work on time today!! Gotta love the fact that my car has 4WD! And, much to my surprise, NJ Transit wasn't *too* affected.
That was one crazy storm! Our dog (Jake) had an absolute field day running around the backyard and creating little pathways for himself!
You should see the icicles that are now hanging off of everyone's houses! I think some of them are about as tall as I am!
Yesterday was one lazy day, though, as my boyfriend shoveled out the driveway and a pathway to the garage. He bundled up in layers and lots of Carhartt to go work on his truck.
My cat (Kona) and I (with Jake at our feet) watched a lot of cheesy movies on TV yesterday, and we all settled down to a quick dinner of Orgran pasta with a simple sauce.
I think we got somewhere around 2 feet of snow...BRRR! I need some hot cocoa! _________________ ~Torrey

I hear 27 - 28 inches...yeow!!!! As much as I hate shoveling snow...it would be neat to have a really good snow storm. Like the days of old...when I was kid!! We just don't get snow storms like that any more.
Glad you guys are OK!! _________________ Al

Yes, it did look really cool (you should see the mailbox--it looks like it's wearing a giant chef hat!), but John was out there for a good 3 hours shoveling the driveway and sidewalk!
I remember one other big snowstorm we had here in Jersey, back around 1980 or 1981--I was in kindergarten, and I just remember the snow covered my dad's car!
We built a snow slide on our patio!
Those were the days--when we were too young to shovel! _________________ ~Torrey

What is everyones temperature? for over a week our highs haven't gone over 23. our lows are about 2-7. This next week is supposed to be more of the same. But at least this week I have seen the sun in the mornings, but you better get up early. Any one else craving sun and warmth? carey _________________ Dear Lord, Please help me help my stupid self. |

According to weather.com, it is 29 degrees in my town right now...
I'm freezing! My hands and feet are *always* freezing, and this weather is not helping!!! My cat has been perched atop the radiator cover for the past 3 days--she is not a fan of this cold weather, either!
Seriously, I am the queen of layered clothing and lots and lots of fleece--it's the best material! _________________ ~Torrey

Torrey I hate being cold too. The rain here in Washington finally broke after more than a month of it and we had a few sunny days. You are welcome to send some of that snow over this way, my kids would love a couple of snow days before spring takes over. _________________ Connie

I thought about you too. I am wondering about my daughter in Boston. She doesn't have 4 wheel drive and I know in one recent snow it took her about 90 min to get home. Boy, do we ever need some of the moisture. We have had so many fires. Yesterday was a scary one. It came within 3 miles of our home on the S and burned miles and miles. They were hoping it wouldn't jump the highway. The firemen had just got that one out and then one started E of town and took 3 hours to get that one under control. If we had been 1/2 mile closer we would have had to leave.
Keep safe. _________________ Donna
