For those interested in the cosmetic ingredients. Here are the gluten questionable ingredients in Mary Kay Cosmetics:

Oat flour: Revitalizing mask formula 2

Wheat Amino Acids: Daily Protection moisturizer with sunscreen(discontinued 9-16-04

Hydrolyzed wheat protein: MK Signature nail enamel, MK flawless mascara, advanced moisture renewal treatment cream, endless performance mascara, Timewise Day Solution with SPF 15.

Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein Hydroxypropyl Polysiloxiane: MK signature concealer, MK signature eye primer

Malto Dextrin: Embrace Dreams spa prducts, 3in1 cleanser bar

I'll be glad to search for anything else. Also the company is very customer friendly.

Can you please search the components for Clinque cleaning products and makeup. I'm having problems with dry patches and flaky skin on my face. I was diagnosed with CD in October, but I've had this problem for almost a year. My skin has always been flawless, and I don't know just how to handle this problem. It has been very frustrating.

I was able to get ino the Mary Kay site because I'm a consultant. But I went over to the Delphi forum and found this: Estee Lauder/Clinique use the Standard FDA aproved list of ingredients. If it's in their products it would be lised as these:
Wheat derived: AMP-ISOSTEAROYL HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN
DISODIUM WHEAT GERMAMIDO PEG 2 SULFOSUCCINATE
HYDROLYZED WHEAT GLUTEN
HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN
HYDROLYZED WHEAT STARCH
HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN PG-PROPYL SILANETROIL
HYDROXYPROPYLTRIMONIUM HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN
WHEAT AMINO ACIDA
WHEAT BRAN EXTRACT
WHEAT GERM GLYCERIDES
WHEAT GETMAMIDOPROPYLDIMONIUM HYDROXYPROPY HYDROLYZED WHEAT PROTEIN
WHEAT PROTEIN
WHEAT (TRITICUM VULGARE) BRAN EXTRACT
TRITICUM VILGARE (WHEAT) FLOUR LIPIDS
TRITICUM VULGARE (WHEAT) GERM EXTRACT
TRITICUM VULGARE (WHEAT) GERM OIL

Barley:
AMINO PEPTIDE COMPLEX
BARLEY EXTRACT
HORDEUM VULGARE (BARLEY) EXTRACT
PHYTOPHINGOSINE EXTRACT

Oat:
AVENA SATIVA (OAT) FOUR
AVENA SATIVA (OAT) FLOUR KERNEL
OAT (AVENS SATIVA ) EXTRACT
OAT BETA GLUCAN
OAT EXTRACT
OAT FLOUR
SODIUM LAUROYL OAT AMINO ACIDS

Rye:
non listed

If you are having troubles with your skin, try using natural and fragrance free skin care products instead of looking at commercial brands. There are lines that are also gluten free and I think it makes a huge difference in the look and feel of my skin.

The popular store brands are full of ingredients that can irritate skin. Perfumes are a good example, they are the top cause of skin irritation and allergy these days.

Good Luck!

Hi Nansea,

Hmmm, interesting question...I've not run into that one before!

I'll keep my eyes peeled!

NanSea,

Hi, the e-mail I received back from Clairol simply said that gluten could be in their fragrances, even unscented ones. They weren't very specific.

Hi all,
I was wondering if we had any professional hair stylists out there? I have color put on my hair every 6-8 weeks (to cover the gray). Is there any danger of being glutenized by this?
Also, I went to buy lipstick the other day and noticed that one of the ingredients listed was "licorice". I had not thought about that before. Be careful out there :>)

Nope...I am not a hair stylist...nor do I play on one TV Smile But I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night!! Where did I put that weed whacker? Hair cuts anyone?? LOL!!

Licorice the plant would be GF. Licorice the candy is not. I'm not sure what they are using in the lipstick. It would be nteresting to find out why it's in there.
