I was just wondering what everyone is doing for St. Patrick's Day. My town had 2 huge parades over the weekend so it seems that tomorrow will be more laid back. I have several friends who are doing a day long Irish-style pub crawl, but I think I'm going to have to pass. I'm just not in the mood for drunken craziness. I'll ask them to drink a Guinness for me.
Tonight, I'm going to bake a batch of Green Velvet Cupcakes. If I get really adventurous I'll run up to the store for a corned beef and put it on this evening.
Wishing you all a fun yet safe St. Patrick's Day celebration.

Happy (early) St. Patrick's Day to everyone! We are just going to stay home and relax after a rough week at work. I may "splurge" and have a gluten free cupcake with green icing :>)
Take care,

Happy St. Patty's Day!!!
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!
I'm not Irish, but I play the part well. I'm the party planner for the little shindig at work this morning, so I can't stay here long, but I just wanted to wish you all a great day!

I've got on my green skirt and a white shirt with my green St Patty's Day button/pin on it (like a smiley face, but shamrocks for eyes), and will be making corned beef and cabbage for supper (actually, I'll add the spuds and carrots and pearl onions, thus making it New England boiled dinner).
I had grandparents and great grandparents from Ireland (also a couple from Scotland), so I can even turn on a bit of the brogue when needed (still remember hearing it). And yes, I can drink to prove my Irish heritage, too! |

Hey all!
Enjoy your celebrations, whatever you do!
Even though I am not the *slightest* bit Irish, I'm going to meet up with my mom after work (she works a few NYC blocks away from me) and then we'll head to an Irish pub for dinner...I don't know if I'll have the corned beef and cabbage, though...probably just a bun-less cheeseburger or something.
My office party went over very well and I ate A LOT of yummy Irish cheddar cheese (it's *so* delicious with horseradish in it!). And I brought in a "pot o' gold" this morning, too. (It was really just a black plastic cauldron with mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups inside, but it went over quite well. )

Torrey,
Irish Cheddar is also delicious with a bit of chutney(Major Grey's) dolloped on top of it. The chutney adds a bit of a sweet componet to it.\
