Just saying hello, and wondering what everyone is up to?
I am officially on spring break, so I'm thrilled! Nine days (counting the weekends on both ends) with no work, no students, no papers to grade, no NOTHING! Going to relax in the sun, hit a few movies this week, getting together with a few friends, and in general, do very little!
Weather is warming up nicely, grass is green and the sprinkler is out daily, and I'm enjoying the new patio I built last month. Otherwise, that's about it. Shot of cortisone is doing wonders for me, including allergies (the trees are all in full bloom, and everything is coated in pollen).
Anyone else??? What's up?
Oh, and somebody should come and join IYT and play me some backgammon!

My 10 year old daughter's birthday was Wednesday but my husband was out of town, so we had a belated celebration for her today.
My girls are on spring break this next week so I'm looking forward to spending time with them and sleeping in. We're supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow night so maybe we'll go sledding on Monday. Not exactly spring weather but that's Colorado for ya!

Have fun on your date Torrey. Its my Birthday tomarrow ( 19th) so we are having a get together tomarrow at my house . Also my husband comes home for one week tomarrow. He is a Travel Nurse in the ER. I haven't seen him since Christmas break. We are looking forward to seeing him tomarrow. Even though he is only here for one week ( spring Break) we will spend all summer with him on his assignment in Havasu City. He Assignment is over in August. Hopefully next assignment will be closer to home. He is on the road right now as I type this to make it home for my birthday. Lexi, sounds like a very relaxing spring break. Enjoy it. _________________ Melissa

I think I was glutoned and felt it for the first time two days ago? I Had batroom issues three times and super elevated blood sugers that day. I didn't think I felt symptoms-who knows? I was unable to track the source of it, but could be cross contamination in kitchen(a bit careless lately). Anyhow, I skipped run yesterday not up to it. Ran 4 miles with Andrew in a jog Stroller by the lake today felt great. 35 degrees at run time and 10 degrees when I got up for work. Not exactly sprinklers yet, but this is the Northland . Closer to Lauras weather . Believe it or not my face is starting to get tan. Wondering if I need to be concerned about too much vitamin D with the sunlight. Doc has me on 800 milagrams daily due to low levels on lab work two months ago.. Have fun on your spring break Lexi and good luck on your date Torrey. Happy 19th birtday Melissa-have a ball. I also attended my first celiac support group meeting this week. A gastro doc spoke on family testing. Pretty interesting. I will likely post more on it later. Next meeting we are suppose to bring favorite GF cereals. Anyone have ideas? The only kind I eat is cream of rice and I think they are talking cold cereal.
take care,

| Today I took four of my 4-H kids to food fiesta! It is a county wide food competition. My niece took a gold medal for the sweetest brownie/caramel syrup/ whipcream Goo. It was a sugar fiend's heaven top with strawberries. My daughter made a gluten free Zucchinin bread for the special needs catagory and took home the bronze! Morgan made banana chocolate chip walnut bread which earned her a blue ribbon and took the county winner ribbon for her place setting. Marcus made breakfast burritos and took home the blue ribbon in his division. We went to a birthday party afterward and had a great time. Tomorrow is recovery day!!! Sleep in, clean the kitchen, and veg! Hope every one has a beautiful Sunday. ~Duchess |

Hubby and I have been down with the flu all week. He's finally feeling better, but I feel like I've been dragged behind a truck. UGH....

We had a fun "gluten free road trip" yesterday! We live in the Seattle area, so we made the 3 hour drive south to Portland. We spent most of the day at the OMSI (oregon Museum of Science and Industry). Then we made the drive over to the Bob's Red Mill Store. Imagine - a whole store full of Bob's Red Mill stuff! I spent way to much money. Picked up some coconut flour, which I have been unable to find locally. I made some cookies with it this morning, and I must say I am impressed.
Then for dinner, we ate fish and chips at the Corbett Fish House. This is the first time we have eaten in a real sit-down restaurant since August. The fish and chips and chicken strips were amazing, and it was all GF! Everyone else must think so too, because the place was absolutely packed.
I am going to try to stay off my feet a little today. I ended up in the ER on Thursday night with pre-term labor, and they said to get off my feet more. OK - will they please send someone over to cook, clean, go to work and everything else for me!?!?!?!? _________________ -Colleen
