I was wondering, I was reading another link about weight gain, loss with CD and it got me thinking, (looked around and saw alot about Type 1 diabetes but didn't see any type 2). Is there any info on CD with adult onset diabetes? Are they more likely to gain weight than loose weight before diagnosis? In my personal experience the people in my family who I believe probably have CD and are heavy also have diabetes (my daughter for one), those who are thin or loose weight (like I did) don't. I also have met a couple of other people who have gained weight or are overweight when diagnosed and they have diabetes also. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

I'm a Type 2 diabetic who has been overweight all of my life. Since going GF about 7 months ago, I've dropped about 20 lbs and my insulin levels have gone from 65 I.U to 20 I.U. I've eliminated the Glucophage altogether and the ONLY difference is the GF/DF--I'm still a junk food junkie. I don't know if this is normal 'cause I don't what what "normal" is supposed to be. _________________ The Love we withhold is the pain that we carry.

Thanks Nicki, my daughter is in total denial about the CD and the diabetes, she was on glucophage and glucovance during high school but once she turned 18 she quit. Now we call it "that which you do not have" when she complains she isn't feeling well. I just keep praying she'll hit bottom and decide she wants to be healthy, before she does any more damage that can't be repaired. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |
