Yes as long as your not lactose intolerant, whey is milk derivative. It does not have anything to do with wheat, rye or barley. I had the same question in the beginning.

One thing you might notice after you've been GF for awhile...is the ability to consume some dairy.

Many times a Celiac is LI because the the villi are damaged. The tips of the villi produce an enzyme called lactase. Lactase breaksdown the sugar component lactose in dairy. So...once you have healed...it maybe possible for you to consume small amounts of dairy.

i have waited a while, actually, i had heard one may be LI when a celiac and shouldnt drink milk for at least 6 months. i m not a milk person as it is, so it wasnt a prob until i bought the GF cereal and still found my self sick.. that was when i noticed. so i drink milk at least 2 x's a week and am the same way.. wanna hear something funny.. i get sick w/water as well.. Confused
