to all you Moms and those that aren't Mom's but give nurture and care and "Mother-Like" actions toward others.

Our hats are off to those of you that have kids...we don't know how you do it! LOL We had Peg's neice and nephew for the weekend. They are good kids, we love them dearly, but holy cow! Very Happy Laughing We're just aren't used to it Smile

They requested to stay with their Uncle Al & Aunt Peggy [Mom & Dad said we are their fav. Aunt & Uncle] while their Mom and Dad went to a 3 Dog Night Concert (and stayed over night). We've had the oldest by herself many times, but this 1st time for a "double-shot". He had fun...watched movies, ate popcorn, drank rootbeer floats, played guitar [the nephew is taking guitar lessons and I ask him to bring his guitar. Well you'd think he was setting up for a 2 week gig. He brought 2 guitars, an amp, music stand, books. All for about 10-15 minutes. LOL!!!], stamped mother's & early father's day cards for Mom & Dad. At good time was had by all...but we are exhausted!! LOL

Hope y'all had a good day!!!!

Are you trying to tell us that breakfast in bed and a card once a year isn't worth all the work?? Laughing (I never thought it was either--that's why I have critters instead of kids.

Wow, I was supposed to get breakfast and bed and a card? Someone forgot to tell my kids that I guess. Laughing

We had the whole family over and friends for a BBQ, it was great we actually spent about 5 hours together and no one got into a fight. It was all I ever asked for on Mother's Day no fighting and it only took 21 years to get it!

Ha! I've got you all beat. On Friday after school, my older son Walker, came out and said, "Oh yeah, I forgot your Mother's day present inside." I suggested he go back and get it and he declined, and went to his friend's house. Ty was carrying something and trying to hide it, so walking home, I had the dog's leash in one hand, and Ty's present in the other hand, that I had to carry but not look at.
Sunday morning, on the table was a styrofoam cup with a plant in it, and tissue paper glued on the cup in a "faux stained-glass" look from Ty as well as a card with a drawing of a flower that said "My love for you keeps growing...and growing...and growing".
From Walker (he's 8 1/2) I got a note on a piece of scratch paper that said: I O U (and sometimes Y) a Mother's day present. Love, Walker.
I don't think I'll ever forget that. I laughed so hard.

I got a lovely letter-holder made out of popsicle sticks and "silk" flowers from my 9-year old, and a wonderful bracelet of plastic beads in all colors of the rainbow from my 7-year old. Better than diamonds and rubies, if you ask me. Smile

Oh, yeah, I also got heartburn and a sore back from the one that isn't born yet. How did she know that's what I wanted?

My mom got a photo album of our wedding and a peaceful cookout, which is everything she requested. Smile
