Not all Halls are GF!! Someone else made that mistake recently. I don't recall which ones are GF. I'd check the Delphi lists...

Here you go....

...but according to delphi all Vicks and Ricola cough drops are GF.

Quote:
Halls Sugar-Free Drops/Lozenges (Cadbury Adams) (1-866-782-3267) (vp=12/16/04)
I called about the Halls Mentho-Lyptus Drops and the person on the phone said that all of their drops/lozenges contain gluten except for the sugar-free ones.

This is from a gal that misread the info while she was sick...she was eating halls mentho-lyptus ones for a week and wonder why she was feeling so yucky!!

even with my meds the dr's said cuz of the combo it could be a week before I notice signifigant improvement. At least the cough drops are helping some. Mom bought ricola hoping they would help with the congestion too! *crosses fingers*

GF chicken soup is no problem! My homemade chicken soup has always been GF! Only processed food I put in it is risotto (sp) everything else is chicken and veggies.

Apparently though being sick is taking its toll on my DH, called my Dr and then my pharmacy and then the manufacturer, my meds are GF, but my DH is driving me nuts. Dr suggested an Aaveno *oatmeal* bath oye

Mmmm your chicken soup sounds really good!!!

Oh yah...oatmeal will "help" Rolling Eyes

Have you asked your doc about Dapsone to help with the itching??

Your doctors may prescribe medications for immediate relief from the itching and burning eruptions. The most common medication used is Dapsone. This medication has serious side effects and requires regular monitoring by your physician. When taken to relieve the symptoms of DH, Dapsone should be taken in the smallest effective doses for as short a time as possible.

She's hesitant about any medications because in general I react pretty badly to them. I called hoping she'd have some kind of cream or something. Oh well I think it's just the stress of being sick making it worse!

kristi----try some good peppermint lotion---it works very well for itching--it has a cooling effect on the skin--maybe a shower with Dr. Bronners Peppermint soap would help too---and yes, its gluten free---my peppermint lotion is almost gone Embarassed and i havent found any anywhere--i hope i do soon-------my family doctor used to say if you get any kind of virus or illness it will always settle in the weakest part of your body---my question---how does a self respecting disease settle on the weakest part of a celiac Rolling Eyes Deb
