1 (16 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained (reserve some of the liquid in case it is too thick)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon tahini
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 slices canned jalapeno pepper, chopped
1 teaspoon liquid from the can of jalapeno peppers
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3/4 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

DIRECTIONS:
Combine everything in a food processor. Cover and refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to blend. I had to add a few tablespoons of liquid from the beans bacause it was too thick. This recipe is spicy! Cut down on the peppers if you like a little less heat.

Colleen, what do you like to use to dip in the hummos? I loved to use the pita bread with hummos, that is such a nutritious and yummy snack! Thanks for the recipe. The baby must kick like crazy when you make the recipes with all those jalepenos!! Very Happy I was so nervous when I was preg. to eat something with gluten on accident. I know everything gets filtered by the placenta but I was just so nervous since the baby was depending on me. Very Happy I pretty much worried myself for nothing, she turned out just fine Very Happy And I know there are so.. many people that have CD and don't know and their kids are fine, thank goodness.

It's good with pretty much anything. I like it with the Bette Hagman pita bread recipe, or food for life brown rice tortillas or corn thins. It's good on veggies, too.

This baby will definitely be a redhead, considering all the spicy food I've been craving. I figure she's giving me heartburn anyway, I might as well pour some gasoline on the fire. Very Happy

Hope you like the recipe.
