I don't know if anyone one has heard of this company or not but they are awsome!!! I rate the lemon poppy seed cake with a ten stars!!! It was just like the gluten one!! I was not expecting it too come that close. I orderd that and corn muffing mix and bananna bread mix. they have so much more. I can wait to try the other stuff I ordered. I will be ordering more. I will post as I try. They are reasonably priced too. Has anyone else tried something from this company? I wish I would have found it sooner. Oh well. Here is the link:

Momto4, I have converted my gluten Banana bread recipe and it is really good. If you want it, I will post it. (if it isn't already) It has no milk, so it is even good for those that do not use dairy.

Another great company is called Namaste.

We started carrying them at Wild Oats a few months back -- and it is a Godsend.

I also love Enjoylife!

Thanks for your input. I am going to try this company .. and see if my work will start carrying it.

Take care!

Try looking on that site also. They have some good mixes that I've tried before (muffins & cake). I haven't ever found them in a health food store though. Always ordered them online.

I made a really good loaf of banana bread just last week and my hubby (who isn't GF) absolutely loved it! Here it is...

Ingredients:
3 small bananas
1 egg
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup potato starch
1/2 cup cornstarch
4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. guar gum
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350. In large bowl, mash bananas well. Add egg, brown sugar, oil, milk & vanilla. Mix well. Add potato starch, cornstarch, baking powder, guar gum, baking soda, salt, cinnamon & cloves. Mix well. Batter will be thin. Pour into greased 9x4 loaf pan. Bake approximately 40 minutes, until toothpick inserted into middle comes out clean. ALlow to cool briefly before removing from pan. Regrigerate or freeze. Keep covered to prevent drying out. Makes 1 large loaf. Serves 10.

Enjoy!

Marcy I have just ordered a bunch of food from Kinnikinnick. There is a link somewhere but the bread is very good and it has a flat shipping rate of $10 I think. While you are there the dohnuts and brownies are wonderful. The link is www.kinnikinnick.com These were recommended to me by other people on this site and they are wonderful. Also freeze the stuff straight away. I bagged mine wrote the carbs on it (Got a diabetic Celiac) and froze them. He liked the hotdog buns alot. He was never a great bread eater anyway but he still misses it. The cheese bread is scrummy (I like that). It is so difficult to get a bread that tastes like glutenated bread. I know my mother-in-law toasts all her bread and says that it is much more edable that way. Good luck.

Daughter,

I find Namaste products at whole foods if you have one near you.

Momto4,

Thanks very much for the info about kinnikinnicks. I have not tried them yet. $10 seems good for shipping especially if it is a flat rate on the order Very Happy
