While I like how TEC and MrsP set up their recipes, that's an awful lot of sections. Can we narrow it down a bit more? _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I kinda agree. I think the simpler the better. Of course I know there's going to be a trade off... _________________ Al

Well, if you think that it is too much to organize, then they can always be copied and posted over at the link I provided. (Seems like this one keeps following me. ) _________________

I do agree with the number of recipes posted here and the number that are posted regularly(very few) that general categories would work perfectly. I would suggest Main, Sides, Desserts, Baked Goods and the all informative Other. In time if need be more folders can be added, correct?
Regarding TNT I was just thinking that they would all be thrown in a folder for us to peruse at will. It doesn't really matter.

If it was something "we" had control over doing, I don't think I worry too much about it. I just feel kinda funny asking Admin to add 463 forums. I just get goofy about stuff like that, sorry. _________________ Al

Yup, we'd have to ask admin to add some more. I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem.
Sure they could be thrown in a "folder too". We then could create an index if we needed to. _________________ Al

I didn't mind having the slightly higher # of folders. When I'm cooking I usually have at least the main ingredient in mind - like Main Course: Beef. I like the way TEC and MrsP have theirs organized; it's very efficient. But I suppose some of them could be combined to reduce the # of folders. What would be the ideal # of folders then?
As for the TNT in a separate folder - why index them in a new folder if they're already in a sticky post at the top of their category - which makes them kinda indexed already? Wouldn't it be just as easy to browse each category? _________________ Cheers!

Hey Al, how's this project of yours coming? Any word from the admin?
PS: However many folders you want is fine with me...just playing devils advocate in my last post. _________________ Cheers!

While we're organizing things, what do you think about adding a Newbies section at the same level as General Discussions? You can then lump all the info for newcomers (like the Boot Camp thread). _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Hey Jenn,
Nope - Nothing has happened. I think we've all agreed we're too busy to tackle this right now. I think this is a late fall or winter project.
Unless someone wants to...
finish a commissioned stained glass project
sort thru 600+ picture to assemble a wedding album
create a video from those 600 pics & .5 hr of video from 2 cameras
convert 3 VHS tapes to DVD
need I continue?
that might free me up to work on this... LOL!!!!
Keep checking back tho _________________ Al

I'm willing to work on the recipe organization if it's just an issue of manpower aka chickpower and some clicks, copies and pastes.
It seems you've got your hands full, Al. Good luck with your projects!

Tec, if we can't go ahead and put them in order in a forum here, would you want to copy and paste them into the categories that I have over at my little site? (That is if AL can't set up the threads to put them in.)
This way, they can just be copy pasted 'in order' when AL gets a chance to get around to setting it up here.
Just an idea. Not trying to push anything _________________

I have a recipe question, and this seemed like a good place to ask!
Can we share recipes out of cookbooks? Is that ok as long as we include the book title and author? (I am not sure about the whole copyright thing, so I thought I'd ask.) _________________ Wheat-free and egg-free since 10/1999.
