I try to be sooooo good...but one thing I can't seem to stay away from is chocolate!!! My husband bought one of those BIG boxes of snicker's bars from Cosco (like 50 bars in a box)....my one weakness...chocolate...and especially snickers!!! They are so yummy...kind of a comfort food I guess. I have eaten 2 bars this week already...if they just weren't sitting around the house I wouldn't eat them...

You say this like it's a bad thing! Shocked Unless you have a weight problem, why is eating chocolate so very bad? The dark stuff is full of antioxidants and boosts seratonin levels to make you feel good. Sure beats an antidepressant! Laughing

hahaha...i know that there are "positive" things about chocolate...and no its not really a bad thing since i'm don't currently have a weight issue...just feel guilty when eating "unhealthy" things like snickers bars i guess....make sense? but i do enjoy that I can actually eat snickers bars since there are so many other yummy things that I can't eat any more! Smile

hey, be thankful that your favorite bar wasn't Kit Kats or Little Debbie Nutty bars. LOL

It is really hard to walk away from those for me!!!!!!! I try to find comfort in Reese's CUps and M&M's though. LOL

Oooo, I do that too! And then I feel so guilty, which usually makes me want to exercise more.

Here's what I've done to balance it out:

1. Just like Noatak said, some sweets can be good for you, like dark chocolate. Try replacing some of your normal sweets with stuff like that, or fruit and honey.
2. If you really need to have that Snickers bar, make it a treat. Do something first (clean the house, organize your pictures, etc) then let yourself have one.

I don't think anyone following the GF lifestyle should feel guilty at all for eating chocolate. There are many mainstream goodies we cannot have and it's a damn good thing many chocolate items do not contain gluten! I have given up everything that contains gluten with no problem whatsoever. I couldn't have done it without coffee and chocolate in my life! Not too much but I have both everyday and guilt never enters the picture! Laughing

Since we have given up so many other yummy things to take care of our health, I feel that it's fine to have a treat when I want. I actually was not a sweets fan to much pre GF, now that options are cut I eat a lot more snicker bars and ice cream Smile
