Go ahead and post the recipes but give credit where credit is due.

Tec, if we can't go ahead and put them in order in a forum here, would you want to copy and paste them into the categories that I have over at my little site? (That is if AL can't set up the threads to put them in.)

This way, they can just be copy pasted 'in order' when AL gets a chance to get around to setting it up here.

Just an idea. Not trying to push anything Very Happy

Mrs.P,
If I am understanding you correctly, my initial instinct is posting them on your site temporarily creates double the work. They will have to be cut and paste to get to your host site and then copied and pasted to get back here.

It's an interesting idea that would for the short term put the recipes in some sort of order, but I'm just not sure...hmm

Tec, I know it would be a little more work..........I was just thinking if Al can't get to it for some time at least it would be sorted and then we could divide the categories up and copy paste it.

Maybe when the final copy paste was taking place, it could go faster and maybe a few of us could take certain categories and copy paste it.

If you think that is too much work, then that is okay. I was just tossing out an idea.

If you guys all have time now, go for it!! I just remember that last time I brought it up, MrsP was busy, TEC was busy, I was busy and shouldn't be working on it Wink...general consensus was that fall was a better time to start.

MrsP - Yeah, I'm not sure I fully understanding either Embarassed I think it'd be confusing to have the recipes "off site". If you want to keep a copy of them for safe keeping - that'd be great!! Knock yourself out Very Happy

The last I remember we where trying to decided on HOW they should be classified. We need to figure out how the forums need to be setup so we can ask admin to create them.

Hey...a PA sounds good to me...I'm not sure Peg would be to happy about it tho Wink heheeeee

Al,
If I'm not mistaken we all had to much going to develop a gluten free baking boot camp. I didn't, actually still don't have the time or energy to put all of my GF baking thoughts in some order that is actually useful to a newbie. I'm still not even sure where the starting point is for that project. http://www.celiacforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3431

Now organizing the recipes seems rather brainless to me. I'm notorious for multi-tasking and can copy and paste while taking phone calls, etc if it is indeed that easy. Wouldn't we need some special clearance to help?

You are right we do need to decide how we want to sort the recipes before we begin anything.

YES, THAT'S IT!!!!!! As you can see, I'm having trouble keep conversations straight Smile

In order to move posts, you do need mod status. But like you said, moving things is not a big deal. Of course if the OP's of the recipe repost them in the New forums, no special powers are needed for that Smile

It's a matter of getting our structure down 1st and getting that submitted to Admin.

So...more ideas on Recipe classicification??

I haven't gone back to read the entire thread. Remembering that some people wanted more general folders and others more specific what if we were to use general folders for commonly gluten free (mains, veggies, etc.) and more specific terms for baked goods(bread, cakes, etc.). [That's a run on sentence and I'm going to let it go.]

TEC's new folder suggestions:
Appetizers
Entrees (or Main Dishes)
Veggies & Salads
Starches(potatoes, pasta, rice, etc)
Breads & Rolls
Cakes, Pies and other Desserts
Cookies & Bars
Beverages

In time we can always tweak the folders, but this would give us a good starting point.

Thoughts from the gallery?

TEC... those sound very good. I would probably only add maybe an appetizers section (for all those football foods!) and possibly a beverages section.

Looks good to me.

Check out this mock up, let me know what you think.

We also need hash out how to handle the TNT recipes.

I vote for a TNT stickie in the approriate forum. That way we don't need any further categorizing of a TNT forum.

OR we have a TNT fourm and we have an alphabetic index or a category index post that will help organize it. This would work well too. Of course that mean we'd need a Keep of the Index Wink

I second stickies in the appropriate forum.

The mockup looks good...just a couple of suggestions.
I think we can dump potatoes, pasta, rice, etc. from the first line and starches from the second line.
Starches(potatoes, pasta, rice, etc)
Recipes for Starches(potatoes, pasta, rice, etc)

Same goes for (or main dishes) from the first line.
Entrees (or Main Dishes)
Recipes for main dishes

Does anyone have a better term for starches? Seems as if we're getting somewhere!

Al, that looks awesome. I also like the 'stickies' for TNT items.
Do we also need a misc category for things such as play dough, etc? Also, maybe a 'tips' section at all... for substitution info and the such? Just some random thoughts that I needed to write down before they left me.

How about the all encompassing 'Other' folder? Would that work?
