Hello All
Its been a long time since I have been on here
but now have some questions for anyone who can help
I am going to Oahu Honolulu next week, has anyone been there and eaten anywhere.
Any suggestions would be helpful I know there is an outback and lots of steak places but REAL expensive steak places.
thanks |

You are going to have a hard time with the local food. I'd suggest finding a grocery store and buying some poke (seasoned raw fish) and rice (yup, you can buy plain prepared rice). If you have a fridge (or don't mind getting a bunch of ice from the icemaker to keep it cool) then get enough for several days worth. Lomi salmon is good and cooked for the less adventerous.
I ate furikake mahi mahi at You hungry (a place lunch place) and don't think I had any problems, but I took a benadryl with it to be safe.
Ted's bigger burgers in Waikiki is cheaper, but I never got around to eating there.
I'd really suggest going to Chinatown for a day if you haven't been to one. You can get fresh fruit, bubble tea, mochi, tapioca pudding, haw flakes, and summer rolls. Summer roll wrappers are tapioca and rice. I love them. _________________ Lauren
