My favorite new snack! I have replaced Potato Chips with Sugar Sanp Peas. Much healthier and I still get the crunch I crave. They are great raw with fat-free GF dip of choice. _________________ Never let your fears become the bounderies of your dreams! |

what are sugared snap peas???? What aisle do you find them in? My daughter loves regular pea so something different might be a little fun for her. thank you. Sugar Snap Peas are one of my all-time favorites!! They actually are not peas with sugar. That's what they are called.... "Sugar Snap Peas." I find them in the produce section of the grocery store...but I prefer to buy mine from the Farmer's market. My grandparents used to take me to the Farmer's market when I was younger...and they'd always let me fill a lunch sized paper bag with them....and I'd eat them in the car on the way home.
I just LOVE those things. I've actually got some in my fridge right now. We hit the farmers market at just the right time!! |

Ah - I love those... I used to put them in my stirfry, but DH is allergic to them - swelling itchy tounge - the whole deal. So there's another thing on the list that's not allowed into house...
Sugar Snap Peas:
Sugar Snap peas are doubly paradoxical: fresh peas - a taste of late Summer - and no shelling required. The pods are fleshy, sweet and tender, so leave the peas in and 'eat the lot'. You may want to pinch off the stem, but otherwise the only preparation required is a quick rinse.
They're equally simple to cook. Serve pea pods as crudit’s or break them and add to salad. Otherwise, they need only very little cooking until they turn bright emerald green. They're a natural in stir fry or briefly steamed can be served as a side, or over pasta, perhaps along with broccoletti, walnuts, oil and crumbled cheese. _________________ Cheers!

I think Whole Foods also has a dry, more chip-like version of these. But I haven't tried them yet. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={
