Prior to my Celiac diagnosis (only 3 weeks ago) I often found good recipes on www.recipezaar.com. I finally got around to going on there today. If you type gluten free in the search you will get recipes with gluten free in the title. I looked at many of them they have potential and to my 3 week knowledge appear to be gluten free.
On the main page in the middle if you go to "by Diet" and then under Dietary "free of" you will find gluten-free as a choice. There were over 3,000. I obviously did not look at them all and did find one with spelt (see I am learning, I hope, no spelt right?).
Anyway I did find a couple to try this week. It is nice because they are broken into categories and rated.
There is a user GlutenFreeGirl who has posted a ton of recipes.
Hope maybe you will find something new! |

If you just search for the member GlutenFreeGirl and go into her profile she has created cookbooks of gluten free recipes from the site that she has either posted or tried and liked.
Again I am no expert, just starting out. But from what I have read and researched so far she seems to have a handle on the diet.
CAREFUL, you do need to know your foods for example a recipe that requires soy sauce does not always say GF soy sauce or noodles GF noodles. |

another thing to watch out for: sometimes they are listed as gluten-free, but still have rye, barley, oats, spelt, kamut, and so forth - and ONLY omit wheat! just make sure you read over the ingredients _________________ If you're hungry, I'd love your support! |

Somehow I missed this thread at some point but found www.recipezaar.com by the bayarea celiac forum because some of the members post their own recipes there. I like the idea of people rating the recipes so you know if they are well received or not.
But definitely will keep in mind the word of caution to read the ingredients carefully.
Of course, I haven't tried "ANY" recipes so far. I keep waiting on good fortune to shine on me and bring me a mother or a cook to help me out. (No getting on to me Al - I can wish and dream, can't I?) |

This is one of my favorite recipe websites. I've made a mexican cornbread recipe and a crockpot breakfast that were both good. I also like the ratings and how people can post their own tips. You do have to watch for errors... I've reported a couple that said they were gluten free, but were not. They are very good about correcting them. I also like that it will list the carbs per serving as well. _________________ Kim --

| I made a banana bread this week with a recipe from the site. I thought it was pretty good. My husband wouldn't try so I am the only opinion. I froze some for later. |
