I have read a few postings on here from people that have IBS.

I found this new article about how Study confirms IBS linked to more diseases today on ScienceDaily. So, if you happen to have some other associated conditions, like fibromyalgia, migraines and depression, they may be connected. If you have, or may have, IBS, the article is worth a read.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for posting this!

One thing that I'd like to know...where any of them tested for CD? Or even suggested that they try a GFD? I can't tell you HOW MANY TIMES, people have been dx'ed with IBS [the doc's term for I Be Stumped Wink] just because they were not tested for CD.

From what I can tell, IBS tends to be one of those Catch All dx's. Not unlike Fibro. Again, I know many that their Fibro has disappeared once on a GF diet.

I would venture to guess there is a good percentage of these "IBS" patients that have gluten intolerance of some kind. It certain has all the big sx's of CD/GS (fibromyalgia, a chronic pain and fatigue disorder, as well as migraines and depression). It really makes ya wonder...

Al, I too was surprised there was no mention of CD in a study of this type. It would have been nice to know if they looked at that. Perhaps the original study did, and the synopsis that was put out for publication just omitted any reference?
