I have a receipe calling for gluten free powdered chicken or veg. soup base & I cannot seem to locate any. Does anyone know where I could purchase it? I checked the health food stores in my area yesterday & they acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. Any help would be appreciated. I want to make cream of mushroom soup to use in cassaroles & etc.
Thanks!

Last time I checked, the Herb-Ox boullions were GF. I use better than boullion, which is a paste and has to be kept in the refrigerator, but works great. It tastes WAY better than powdered stock, IMO.

The link will take you to the cream soup replacement recipe. There are more than one listed on this site. This is the one that I use. I purchase GF broth/stock in the asceptic containers. I can use as much or little as I need and then put the rest in the refrigerator.

Hi Kent's Mom,

Welcome to the board!! Just jump right in, the water's fine.

Try the link again - it works...the Magic Link Fixing Fairy made an appearance Wink

If dairy is not a problem...Progresso's Cream of Mushroom Soup is GF. However it does have a different texture than Campbells.

However after seeing your sig - you might still be having trouble with dairy Sad being newly diagnosed. Don't be afraid to ask questions. We'll do our best to answer them Smile

Also, the Gluten Free Pantry has a powdered mix. I bought some on-line from their web site.

Herb Ox and Knorr will clearly list any gluten in the ingredients.

Thanks everyone who responded to my post. I can eat dairy products-have to stay away from anything that contains wheat, barley, oats & rye.
I truely enjoy this forum & have learned so much from it. I hope that I can of some help when I learn the ropes. I found that a lot of Wal-Mart's brand (great value) is gluten free. We already were eating a lot of their brands.

I also use Better Than Bouillon at times. I just checked the web site (going through all my condiments) and this is the company's answer to the GF question:

[Are your Better Than Bouillon products gluten free?

We do not add any Gluten in our Better Than Bouillon products except for our Better Than Bouillon Low Sodium Beef and Vegetable base, Crockery Gourmet Seasoning Mix Beef and Pork flavors.]
