Thanks! let me know how this does for you. I would love to pass this on to the Celiac group when we next meet. We have some ladies that can't do yeast. _________________

Well I tried the yeast alternative and did not have great results, but not ready to give up on it yet. I used my grandmas old recipe and used milk alt. egg alt. yeast alt. and flour alt. so maybe I need to try a different recipe?But I called a lady down in Salt Lake that her family wrote a cook book and her aunt could not have yeast either, and she gave me a recipe. Not great if you remember back when you could eat real food. But it did work and they are etible, not to bad realy. it is for bread but I made rolls. here it is;
quick yeast free bread
1 1/2 c rice flour
1/3 c potato starch
1/4 c tapioca starch
1 tsp. xanthan
1 TBL baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 TBL. brown or white sugar
2 TBL. oil
2 eggs beaten I used energy egg replacer
1 c milk I used 1/2 soy and 1/2 rice
1/4 c applesauce I like musselmans all natural
In bowl combine dry ingredients and set aside, In a small bowl combine wet ingredient; add them to the dry ingredients. mix well, spoon batter into greasd and lightly floured 8x4" loaf pan. bake at 350' for 45 min. (for rolls 30 min. I put them in muffin tins.
quick raisen bread
increase sugar to 1/4, add 2 tsp. cinnoman, 1/2 c raisens, 1/2 c. nuts if desired.
quick raisen apple bread
add 1 c peeled, cored and diced apple to quick raisen bread.
It sounds like you could add just about anything your willing to try.I have ordered a book from the internet called "feast without yeast" so when it gets here I'll let you know if there is anything promising in it. Well good luck to all you yeast freaks like me! carey _________________ Dear Lord, Please help me help my stupid self. |

just found 1 of the problems; you are only supposed to use 1 of those yeast alternatives not all three. carey _________________ Dear Lord, Please help me help my stupid self. |
