Help!! Embarassed I want to make myself some "baby back ribs"

Does anyone know of a gluten free barbeque sauce, also is there a list of spices and flavorings that are GF.

My TIP: Regarding toasted bread - being a "newbee" I am experimenting - Yep I have found that a TOASTER dries out the bread - so using the small George Forman Grill for toasting is working out nicely and the bread is not all dried out. How about that guys!! Smile

Needless to say, I am open to any of your tips - still learning and want to know more.

Have a GREAT day
Barb

Hi Barb,

Here are a few BBQ sauces that were on a GF list I have:

Boar's Head BBQ--Vidalia Onion or Jalapeno Sauce

Giant Brand Steak Sauce

Mr. Spices Honey BBQ Sauce

Select BBQ Sauce

Wegman's BBQ Sauce

As always, you need to read the labels, as things change so quick and with no warning.

www.clanthompson.com has a list of GF foods. You can download a demo list or purchase a more detailed list that they update for you every 3-4 months.

Being new at this too, any tip is a great one!!!

Good luck with your ribs!

Saz's BBQ sauce is GF too. I think it says it right on the label. I'm not sure where they are sold. The company is in Milwaukee, WI.

It's not BBQ sauce, but A1 steak sauce is GF - in the US. I think Canada it's not.

I believe ALL McCromick Spices are GF.

Barb - Good luck with your ribs !!! Let us know how they turn out

Cynmis - Thanks for the sauce list!

Yup - they have it. I was at the store about 1 month ago. If anyone is from WI - try to go there. It's a small store, but the staff is very friendly & very helpful. I went there when I first started this diet.

I guess this post is a little older than I thought- but this is what I use for Homemade BBQ Sauce:

1/2 - 1 cup C&H pure cane lgt. brown sugar
2+ cups Heinz ketchup
a little apple cider vinegar
a squirt of lemon juice
and a little Lea & Perrins Worc sauce

*optional
minced fresh garlic
smoke flavoring

Just mix is all together, adding ketchup to taste.

NOTE: make sure you use the exact name brands above as they are gluten free. I made the mistake of using generic brown sugar- which they use molasses to color!!!

There isnt anything wrong with molasses--they used to tell us that anything with caramel coloring contained gluten--now they say that in the United States we no longer need to worry about caramel coloring--I use molasses without a problem and I dont worry about brown sugar anymore either---call the company if you want a definate answer--Brer Rabbit molasses--Grandmas molasses--House of Herbs molasses--all gf--diabetics do need to stay away from molasses cause it is sugar based--I wouldnt worry about molasses, but always call---Deb

Thank you Deb.

Even though we've been dealing with this for so long I know there are still things I don't know. That's part of why I'm interested in this forum.

I bake with molasses all the time without apparent problem. The molasses we use is "Wholesome" brand organic black strap; there are no additives of any kind.

You are very kind. Bless you.
Just think what a great world we'd have if everyone spread kindness around so freely. I'll work on it myself!

Does anyone have a really good soy sauce substitute? It needs to be both gluten-free and soy free on my diet.

Here is a link to a recipe I found, which I still haven't tried:

It seems there was another one lurking around here, too, but I can't remember where it was.
