Hello,
I recently found out that I'm allergic to wheat although i've had the typical signs for many years and have been clueless. I've been trying to be GF most of the time but last weekend my husband and I were out and I had already started to suffer from "acid tummy" and just wanted to eat something desperately. And since I have been off wheat for a few months and free from symptoms, we decided to have pizza of all things. Usually I can get away with peeling the cheese off and just eating that, but instead as a gluton for punishment I ate the crust too.
My acid tummy got worse, by 12am I was vomitting and continued to do so until 3am when we went to the E.R. I seriously thought it was just acid reflux, but nothing would help. I actually left the E.R. at one point to go to longs to buy more antacid goo, but I could hold nothing down. They finally let me in around 5am, and did a cat Scan of my tummy and siad it was my appendix.
In short it was removed.
My husbands aunt is allergic to wheat as well and had to have her appendix removed too. Could there be a link? _________________ Jesus Loves |

I hope you are feeling better!!!
I have never had my appendix out, but I did have my galbladder out a few years back. Of course, my general surgeon told me all my symptoms would go away. But since most of them were symptoms of CD, I was still quite sick afterwards. _________________

I had my tonsils out, and six months later when the benefit of that was wearing off, my doctors had started to sell me on other surgeries. I heard adenoids, appendix, and gallbladder as potential next candidates.
I'm glad I just stopped eating gluten instead |
