I hope I don't get nailed for copy right things. I don't know where I got this recipe from. I copied it and pasted into a word doc so I could easily keep it, then left the site.

Anyway.. This is another of the breads I made this weekend. OMG! This stuff was fab! Of course, I'm not a great baker, so messed up and put 1/2 cup white sugar in it, instead of 1/4 white 1/4 brown. But they still turned out fantastic. SIL said it tasted like the Hawian Bread you can get in the stores (NGF).

Next time I make these, I want to get pancake rings or whatever those metal rings are called and fill them with batter to make the rolls more uniform. We had these for burger buns, took some out to eat with us as our bread...

Ganna make more this weekend if I can.. just gatta find those darn rings!

Gluten Free Rolls
3 C. GF flour mix
1/4 c. white sugar
3 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 Tbs. yeast
1/4 c. oil
1 3/4 c. warm water
1 tsp. rice vinegar
3 eggs
1/4 c. brown sugar
3 Tbs. honey

Mix flour mix, sugar, xanthan gum, brown sugar and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer. Dump yeast on top, but don't mix it in.

Combine warm water, oil, honey and vinegar. Pour directly on top of the yeast and let sit for 5 minutes or so.(The yeast should bubble and foam a bit.)

Turn the mixer on low, and mix well. Mixture should be slightly warm.
Add the eggs, then beat on high speed for 5 minutes. Turn oven to 375 degrees.

On a greased cookie sheet (I used parchement paper, greased on my cookie sheet) spoon four Tbs. dough into a pile. Wet tips of fingers and smooth the top of the dough. Continue until all the batter is in the size of rolls you desire.

Let rise 20 minutes in a warm spot. Bake for 25 minutes. While still hot place a tsp. butter on top of roll and let it melt.

Hi, rlwilson99! Thanks for posting your recipe. You do not need to worry about copyright issues, as long as you re-word the instructions for your recipe before posting it. General consensus is that one cannot copyright a list of ingredients, but can copyright the wording of the instructions that goes with it.

Also, what flour mix are you using here? There are so many, and they all have such different properties. I'd love to know what mix gave you such great rolls. Very Happy

I have the Hagmans Four Bean flour mix and the featherlite rice mix. All I did was 1 1/2 c of each to make the 3 cups.

That is it. Nothing special, so the recipe is darn good.

I made these in muffin tins and they turned out darn good again! I want rings, but gee.. they are expensive!

Thanks for posting the recipe. Each summer I used to attend or host a Cheeseburger in Paradise barbecue. There were two rules for the barbecue and I can't remember how they came to be. The first was that the burgers HAD to be served on Hawaiian hamburger buns [NOT the dinner rolls or bread] and the second rule was that the only allowable beverage was a crummy Chianti that came in the bottle with twine on it. It HAD to have the twine. After the burgers and crummy Chianti some of the participants would go to the Buffet concert and the rest of us would stay back and finish the crummy Chianti. Maybe it's time to start up the Cheeseburger in Paradise barbecue again now that there is an acceptable alternative bread.

Colleen's absolutely right about the recipes. Another thing that would be helpful is to type in 'Recipe adapted from ______.'

What exactly are Hawaiian hamburger buns?

Just curious, as I haven't heard that term before.

It's actually King's Hawaiian bread. It's just a slightly sweet bread.

Just a side note, that these are better with just the featherlight white rice blend than mixed. I mixed the white rice blend with the bean flour blend. I don't like them as well with the bean in it. I'm ganna try brown rice next time to see what they are like. I also bought some Pyrex glass dishes that I'm going to try making them in to see if I can get a more "uniform" bun.

I'll let you know as soon as I get them done.

I tried this recipe this morning with the featherlite GF blend. It is soooo good! It is a sweet bread - which does taste like the Hawaiian bread! WOW! Thanks for posting this!
