Hi all- I wrote in th fall that my husband and I were considering opening up a bakery for gluten free clients. (In Northeastern CT) Just wanted to update you- we have yet to decide on whether or not we will be doing a wholesale or actual storefront- but we are continuing to research and hoping to find space for a kitchen soon. We are working on muffins and some desserts. Do you think there would be interest out there ordering such products over the internet? |

Of course people would be interested in ordering online, look at all of the baked goods that are sold online already, I think they do well from people like me who would rather pay extra and get the goodies than to bake when time is restricted. Good luck in whatever you decide. _________________ Sarah |

| There are many people who don't live in or near cities where gluten free food is available. We have a small health food store about 35 minutes away, and nothing else that is closer than 2 or 3 hours. People like us, who live in the boonies rely on the internet for many of the things we need. |

The only drawback to online ordering is shipping. But like the others said - if that's the only way you can get it, you're willing pay to have it delivered.
Good luck in your business!! How exciting!!!! Please keep us informed on the progress. _________________ Al

I think it's great that you are considering opening a GF bakery. I'm sure each and everyone one of us would be thrilled to have one nearby.
Just so you know and so you can do some research there were 2 GF bakeries in NYC that closed. I think you might be able to find more info at celiacchicks.com. I can't remember or don't know why they closed.
good luck |
