| I must really be missing something here. Are these the only four ingredients that you use? Not a cracker? Just use the cheese and that will plump up to look like a cracker? |

Yup! Make sure you use the processed stuff, the kind that comes in little wrappers. Not real cheese. You also need to use parchment paper.
DH made some of these for me while I was sick this weekend. They're not Goldfish crackers, but they'll work for now. We cut waaaaay back on the salt and cooking time (the first batch came out burnt). Next time I think I'll try using some of Emeril's BAM seasoning instead of salt. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

| Just make sure your American cheese is NOT labeled cheese food. You want the Real American cheese. Mine didn't come individually wrapped. I bought it at Walmart. The Great Value Brand. |

oh my gosh, I made the goldfish last night and I really enjoyed them. Even my hubby liked them and he isn't g/f. I should have made a double batch, because everytime I go into the kitchen I grab a few. Guess I will be making more tonight. Thanks for the great recipe. |

I've been wondering how you can toss the tiny pieces. I would think Kraft cheese slices would stick to each other and that you'd have great difficulty tossing them with the seasoning and then peeling them apart to put on the cookie sheet. _________________ Mom of Ty (he's eight) who was diagnosed by bloodwork June 2005, biopsy August 11, 2005, notified on & started GF August 18, 2005 |

FWIW I prefer to make these with no seasoning at all. I would try that first, then add seasonings to your liking. The cheese slices don't stick together too badly. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I made these today - they worked out really well. We tried reducing the salt and garlic powder, and adding a sprinkle of onion powder. The kiddos devoured them. =) _________________ "The electrocution was not my fault. You refused to wear the rubber underpants!"
