I'm going to Turkey in 2 weeks. Has anyone else been there since their dx? The web site for the Turkish Celiac Society is all in Turkish [www.colyak.org.tr]. I know they eat a lot of wheat products. I got the book "Eat Smart in Turkey" from amazon.com. It explains words found on menus but I'd like to know what GF things I can pick out without translating everything on the menu.
Does anyone know what type of store would sell things like rice cakes, rice crackers? I find them in health food stores in France.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Pat,
Wow - Turkey...how exciting!
I'm afraid I don't have much info on Turkey right now. I did have a website that had all sorts of sites worldwide, but it has moved or been shut down.
Anyway, I'll keep my eye out.

I have not been to Turkey but I did go to France last year.
www.schaer.com is a company that sells GF food in Europe. In fact, alot of their products I found to be the best I have ever eaten. Though I only found them in very small Natural Food like stores. The Schaer website will list locations in the countries they are found in. And since they sell GF at these locations, you will find other GF or natural foods in the same store. Look for the geographic location link at the far right on their home page and down near the bottom.
Safe fun travels to you. |
