Didn't I just do one of these? Wink

Well, I'm still having issues with my heel [tendonitis]. It's going on 4 months now. It goes away, then it comes back. It helped to up my fish oil intake for a while. In 21 days we leave for Disney. I'm a little nervous that it's going to be a problem for that. I'll guess I'll have to go back to the doctor and see if they can give me some more anti-inflamms Sad

Spring is on it's way here in WI. It's very windy and a bit chilly today. More rain expected this afternoon. The lawn really greened up with yesterday's rain. Sad That means mowing is not far behind Sad

How 'bout the rest of y'all?

For those of you just tuning in, Check-In is chance to introduce yourself, let everyone know how you're doing, what you're up to, to touch base...something, anything, just let us know you're still around Smile

Things have been busy in my house. I'm still working at Old Navy, and our family has just been going under alot of stress lately.
My sister-in-law is getting married in 2 weeks, we are looking after a cat from our local animal shelter- she's about ready to deliver her kittens, but she has the harshest strain of upper respitory there is out there right now. The vet said if she delievers now, she and the babies most likely won't survive.
So I've been feeding here by syrenge every 2 hours since thursday just trying to get her well.

I'm about due to leave for my shift at work- so I guess I'll sign off.
Peace!

I have annual passports to Disneyland and go alot! Its nice to be able to eat safely there.

Ann

Hi all! I have been busy painting my house. (Since Al would not take vacation and come down and show me the skills that he and Peg obtained a few months back. LOL)

I paint a few days and then rest 3 or 4 days. My fibro flares are the worst right now.

I am excited about a discovery I made this past week though. Coke makes a Kosher coke for Passover week. The coke is made 100% from sugar with no CORN in it. I located some and bought all that they had on Saturday.

They have more coke in today, so I am hoping to load up on some more for MrP. He drank some yesterday and did not react!!! Praise the LORD!!!

This was the first real 'treat' from the store that he has been able to have in over a year. I also found some Seltzer water that has nothing but carbination to it and I can maybe make him a drink with those.

So, we are slowly making progress with the new diet restrictions. If MrP can remember not to use the hand towels in the men's room and take the cloth towel with him, I think we may be on the way to recovery. (he has started getting immediate reactions to the paper towels right after using them)

Al, are you and Peg flying to your Disney trip, or driving down to FL? If you are driving, are you coming through my state either down or back up?

If you come back through and I know ahead of time, we might could arrange for a cup of coffee and some doughnuts.

Sounds like y'all are very busy!

I, however, am not so busy. I finally had to quit my job, which makes me very sad. It got pretty ugly, so I really had to go. I look forward to the day when celiac is better understood, and employers are more inclined to acknowledge and accomodate the needs. Strange, considering I was working in public health.

The good news is that I'm spending more time gardening. The weather has been glorious, and working outside (for short periods of time) is healing. And my girls (both teens) are happy to have me back at home.

I'm hoping for good times ahead, now that there is less stress in my life and I've been gluten-free for more than 5 months.

Thanks, all, for your support!

I am glad spring is here and today is the Opening Day of Baseball ( Go Mariners!). Hope springs eternal! Still trying to get to feeling normal after being GF for over a year. It sucks being Celiac at 43! I have made great progress on the Neurological stuff. (Taking supplements that increase Nitric Oxide production have really helped). My hands are working and my Guitar Playing is back to normal. Praise God! Plus, I won a sales contest. I sell and service guitar gear for a living. The prize was a Custom Built PRS McCarty Electric Guitar! http://www.prsguitars.com/mccarty/index.html It is a wonderful instrument!

I have been bugging my Doctors about the possibility of Bacterial Overgrowth. They ignored me. I did some research, ala Al and found out that taking Enteric Coated Peppermint capsules is one natural treatment. So, I started taking them and felt a huge difference in my intestinal discomfort with a day or two. So, now the Doctors are testing me for Bacterial Overgrowth and Candida. You have to nag after your Doctors, unless you are dying....... Rolling Eyes Scott Lewey's Blog has been invaluable!

Here's hoping everyone stays healthy and happy.

Peace

Hey, Al, I'm so sorry to hear your heel is still bothering you! That's got to be so frustrating!!!

We are well--busy busy! C turns 10 tomorrow which rather freaks me out--how can he be that old???

I'm so happy it's Spring, though! Woo, we've had some beautiful days recently.

Well besides near death experiences for the baby and DH throwing his back and unable to walk for two weeks - things are great!

I've been doing some gardening which has been a much needed salve for this tired soul. I hope it's nice out again next weekend... oh the plans I have for the yard!

Otherwise just routine - work and GIG stuff and a bit of giving into the time suck of the internet. But mostly I've been taking care of my "two" babies... Laughing w/ DH being down for the count I've had to pick up a lot of slack so I'm a bit more tired than I am normally. Oh and I started WW again... blah... the first couple of days are always the hardest.

Mmm, all that gardening sounds really nice. This year I'm just hoping to plant a few flowers and stick them on my porch.

Things seem to be looking up, knock on wood. DH will be starting his internship soon, which means he'll finally be part time at work. Huzzah, more income! Which means we'll start looking for a lot for our house in late June.

Thanks Gang for the healing thoughts for my heel Rolling Eyes Smile

I went to the clinic last night after work. I get to see an orthopod to see what he recommends.

We are going to WDW in FL. Sorry MrsP, this time we're flying. Usually we do drive on vacations, but this time we're staying on grounds. Mickey picks us up and drops us off at the airport.

Hey Lyle - Congrats! Anytime you want to send any spare guitars my way...feel free to do so Wink heheheee Nice axe!! I still get a hankerin' for an electric. Sadly I don't play my acoustic enough [nor the mandolin I was going to teach myself to play - 4 years ago]. Glad to hear you're starting to feel better. Rock On!

I'll second that "spring is here and so I'll garden" emotion! I love my twice daily rounds through the yard, checking out the new growth, and enjoying the flowers as each round of bulbs rise and bloom, in between snowstorms.
Still feeling crappy and headachy from my pothole-induced back problem from Feb/March. Not sure where to go with this, but not liking it at all!
If it's not one thing it's another. Getting older really sucks.

Ten months GF and it's getting easier all the time. Very Happy

Technically it's spring here, but it's been snowing for the past 3 days. Not a lot of heavy snow, just periodically throughout the day. I guess we have about 4-5 inches.

I have a black thumb (2 actually), so I don't garden. I love to look at other peoples gardens, though. They are just too much work and too hard on my knees. I planted a lilac and a rose bush last spring, so we'll see if they are still alive for this spring/summer. I'll get a few flowers and put them in pots on the deck. We also planted two trees last spring, so I hope those will still be alive also.

The boys are off on spring break and so far they aren't driving me crazy. Which is good - it can be a very short drive sometimes. Wink
Easter dinner next Monday at MIL's. I think she's making everything GF except Ty will have his own personal dessert, and I'll provide him with some buns. Probably MrsP's crescent rolls.

Hi everyone, I am still peeking in here from time to time. I found out what has caused all my health problems (and Mom and Grannie's and my Aunt's too) We very likely have a genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome which causes lots of joint problems, injuries and yes, even IBS and gluten intolerance. Rolling Eyes I do not have the heart problems that Mom has and Grannie had. Of course most doctors don't know about this condition and there are very few who can do the tests. The biopsy can show some forms of this but not all. By the hypermobility of my joints and history of injuries I qualify for the EDS hypermobility type at the least. I have not made a trip to a major university health center yet, and I don't know when I will be up for the travel and expense of testing.

I am still trying to recover from a severe hip dislocation back in December. It reinjures easily and walking is a problem.

I hope everyone is doing well with the GF diet. I am bored of eating the same things all the time, but I will stay with the things that don't make me sick. The idea of not walking well and trying to run to the bathroom don't mix well! Wink
