I heard a new gluten free bakery is coming to Superior, Wisconsin in June 2007. Does anyone know anymore about it? This will be great for me as it is 10 minutes from home.

Hi,

Al good to hear from you also. Someone at work mentioned the GF bakery is going to open in Superior Wisconsin this June. I thought someone might know what it is called. Anyway, I am excited for fresh bread etc.

Hi Jim,

Not sure where Superior WI. is I have been to Wisconsin Dell when I was younger.

I wish someone would open a strictly GF bakery here in San Diego....I would so go there all the time.... Im so jealous Smile

I love baking bread and rolls, but dont have as much free time to do it .
So maybe if I cross my fingers tight enough and wish hard enough who knows maybe some day Very Happy

Let us know how it all tastes! Very Happy

take care,
Ann

You folks that are in the WI/MN area may want to contact the Silly Yak in Madison, WI - they make fantastic stuff, and their shipping is relatively inexpensive/quick. I just moved and got myself on their mail-order file so I can still have their goodies on occasion.

(And by the way, they use Nature's Gifts Oats in any oat products on the GF bake schedule and seem VERY knowledgeable about CC issues, etc.)

I drove over to Superior, Wisconsin today and found the gf bakery goods. The little bakery is called Sustenance Artisan Breads. The whole bakery itself is not gf. I questioned the owner Dale karsky on cross contamination issues. He said his father was celiac and showed me he had converted a room in the bakery to making only gf products. He said no non gf products enter the room and he takes precaucations such as changing his apron before entering the room for gf products. He showed me the room and it is actually an old walk in safe complete with door. He uses the other walk in safe for his breakroom. I bought a slice of cheese cake, a slice of choc. coffee cake and 2 loaves of sun dried tomato herb bread. So far I have had the cheese cake and some bread both are very good. And the ingredients were listed on the bread. Check out the website below and he said he takes mail orders. I Didn't see gf stuff on websites but he mentioned making some of the same breads gf. The bread is better then the rest I have tried and only $3.50 a loaf or so. I ate it without butter or toasting it and was impressed with the flavor and moistness. Each loaf weighs 1.5 pounds.

ADDRESS ETC.

Al,

I have been around, but I just don't get on the internet a lot anymore. I do miss this site and check in when I'm online usually:). No family on the bridge that day. I called my family in that area to check on them. They used to take that bridge often. Here is different sort of BLT that looks delisious and is GF-As long as you use gf worcestershire sauce.
