Does anyone know if there are GF options at the Cheesecake Factory? A friend just asked me to go tomorrow. I heard they had a GF menu, but didn't see it when I looked at the site.

They may have a GF menu, but several people have complained about serious CC issues there. I'd think twice about going.

Thanks for the advice. I know it might not be smart, but I really want to go. Has anyone eaten there successfully? If so, what did you get or how did you order?

They do indeed have Godiva Cheesecake (GF).

Teenager at the front counter quickly knew the answer to "are any of your cheesecakes GF". Of course I was on mission for my gluten embracing wife so I ended up with 2 pieces of cc.

I have not eaten in the restaurant, however.

I am hoping that you mean 2 pieces of cheesecake and not 2 pieces of cross contamination. Very Happy CC meaning cross contamination is what I would be worried about in a Cheesecake Factory...

I figured that's what you meant, but I wanted to be sure. Glad you got the cc (cheesecake) and not the cc (cross-contamination).

Someone sent me a gift card for Cheesecake Factory...we used it for my Mom on Mothers Day. I tried to contact the corporate headquarters before we went about the availability of GF items. They basically told me they didn't feel confident with me eating there. Very disappointing.

I tried to order fresh strawberries at the restaurant (all I could find that look "safe"). They didn't even want to serve that to me when I showed concerned about cross contamination. Diet Coke has become my meal of choice I guess!

I just figure that any place with a name that includes Cake, Bread, Pasta or Spaghetti is off of my list of places to potentially eat out safely. Wink

Agreed. This includes places like Panera Bread, Subway, Spaghetti Factory, etc.

Actually, some Spaghetti Factory locations offer GF pasta. You have to call ahead and ask for it, though, and there are only 2 sauce choices.

Spaghetti Factory is on the list for multiple reasons. The main concern is CC. The second concern is sanitation. One of my friends found a cockroach in his pasta last time he was there.

I think that would be part of their a la carte "Extra Added Protein" menu...

FWIW, I've always had good experiences with Subway. Their website is excellent for GF items. I order a salad and ask the workers to put on fresh gloves. They are always good about not getting veggies "off the top" of the pile. I've had a few places open new bags of veggies to be on the safe side.

If anyone is near a Biaggio's Italian restaurant, they have a GF menu w/pasta. They understand cross contamination and eliminate it. They explained to me that's why they like GF reservations so they'll set the kitchen up for night like that.
