Hi,

Is Ritter Sport dark chocolate with whole haselnuts ok? The label does not mention any wheat derived ingredients.. maybe possible contamination?

Thanks,
Nikky

Hi Nikky,

Welcome to the board!!

I've never heard of that brand of chocolate. It's appears to a be from Germany. Maybe our resident expert on Germany and chocolate might know. TEC, any idea? Smile

I'd send them an email and ask. That's the best route to go: http://www.ritter-sport.de/en/ueberuns/210_leitbild.htm

Good luck!! Please let us know what you find out!

I've seen Ritter before but I've neither eaten nor bought it, but I have seen it here and in Germany. In fact, I think Meijer sells it in their 'cultural' aisle. I would also suggest emailing the company to determine if it's a safe choice.

I did find this on another celiac board, but I have not contacted this company to confirm it.

And then there is the "Ritter Sport" brand, which you can get at Wegman's supermarket in the northeast of the US. All of them are glutenfree (not the ones with the buiscuit in them of course) and real authentic German chocolates. They are so creamy, they melt on your tongue. Haven't tasted anything like it over here.
