The Gluten-Free Certification Organization is proud to announce the certification of Brown Cow West Yogurt products. Brown Cow is part of the Stonyfield Farms family of fine dairy products.
Brown Cow West representative, Ms. Hodgson states that having gluten-free products is one of the top three consumer requests they receive. Brown Cow West products certified by GFCO include a number of flavors of whole, low-fat and non-fat yogurts.

It would be interesting to see the stats on calls to mfgs. I bet they get a lot of calls to check for gluten status.

I'm actually glad this came back up - I saw one the other day that had grain in it (It was very clearly labeled yogurt and grain something or other) and that one had oats, I think. Needless to say, I skipped it, but might just be something to double-check if your favorite variety is shelved next to it.  |

As always you've got to read the labels on everything... no assuming *anything* is GF. Even something simple like yogurt.

Yeah...I have been trying to find a less expensive GF yogurt without artificial sweetners (just because I get enough of that as it is, so if there's some way I can avoid them and still like the product, I do  ), so I bought a new brand that looked ok. Fortunately, I checked their website before I ate any - Old Home yogurt says their flavored yogurts may have traces of gluten due to flavorings. I am just glad they put it on their website - and I am glad Chris like yogurt, as I can get him to eat them.
Oh well, Brown Cow and Cascade Fresh for me for now. I saw a few Blue Bunny flavors the other day that were marked GF, but they had artificial sweetners. |
