Hi, all. Smile I'm new here. I just had the celiac full panel and a CT scan this past week and am waiting for the results.

My GP put me on an exclusion diet a week ago--no gluten, no lactose, and no "roughage". Over the first six days, my symptoms gradually improved, though I had an odd burning sensation in my abdomen, like someone had rubbed Icy Hot on my intestines or something. I had been having horrible cramps, nausea, diarrhea, and fatigue off and on (mostly on) for five months, so the "Icy Hot" feeling was actually an improvement. I felt okay otherwise.

The other night, I accidentally ate a huge portion of the "wrong" mashed potatoes, which had been made with milk and butter. I started getting cramps about an hour after dinner, and, two days later, I'm still cramping a little, gassy, nauseous, and feeling like I absolutely have to take a nap. Does anyone know how long the effects can last after ingesting lactose? I'm trying to decide if I should cut other foods out as well, but I don't want to do that if it might still be lactose. Heck, if I cut anything else out of my diet, all I'll have left to eat is lint and bananas. Smile

Thanks. Smile
