Hi - I am new to the Celiac forum.

I am a Celiac & have been GF for 2 years. I am in OK shape & run > 30 miles a week.

Last weekend I hiked 6 hours with a group & my muscles are still so sore - I am just misearable. No one in my group is even stiff & seriously the weight of my sheet on my legs is almost unbearable. Has anyone else experienced anything like this??

H2B,

Yes, yes, I have had that experience. I was always used to being very active, but now if I even take a long walk I am very achy (and out of breath but I think that is because I'm still anemic). I hope it is part of the celiac and not just that I'm getting old already. (I'm only 36, I must have at least a few good years left!) It's mainly pain in my calf muscles. I hope it dissipates after being gf for awhile. Good luck!

Chris

I get muscle aches after exercising. Iwas diagnosed recently with MS so I thought that was the problem. Then diagnosed with Celiac in April. Trish

Hi Trish,

Hmmm...sometimes CD is often misdiagnosed as MS. As well as intermingled due to the fact they are both auto-immune diesease.

Gluten can do very nasty things to the body. Please...keep us informed on your progress.

Have you had your B-12 levels checked? http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/news/b12_deficiency_can_be_serious.htm
