last year (at age 44) my gyn dropped a bomb on me, saying that I was peri-menopausal. I had complained of missing several periods in a row - hot flashes (or what I thought anyway) - this was right before my HD reared it's ugly head. Since then, I have become gluten free - the rash has subsided (until I accidently gluten myself- i'm getting better at it ) lots of other positive physical changes have happened including the fact that I no longer have ANY pms symtoms - no bloating, cramps and my periods have been normal -
I'm wondering (actually hoping) if maybe the hormonal imbalance was caused by the CD - i'm going to wait awhile and retested...
any thoughts? |

Hi Deb,
Not that I know anything about what you speak of , but you might go look around www.cyclediet.com. RD/LD [aka Deb and frequent poster here] is a registered dietitian and understands greatly the connection of gluten and such things. There's a discussion board there too: http://www.cyclediet.com/forums/
FWIW - Peg is starting PM too [she's 49]. _________________ Al

I had multiple PM symptoms before going GF. GF life has reduced some of the symptoms' intensity, but they are still there, and exacerbated if I am glutened. You are at the right age for PM - can last from 2 - 10 years, so enjoy the fact that your PMS has become less evident, and hang on for the ride. _________________ Nance
