Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and was diagnosed with Celiac a couple of years ago. I just wanted to post and let everyone know of my positive experience while dining out.

This past Saturday evening, I went to the Outback restaurant in Ancaster, Ontario with an old boyfriend and had a very pleasant experience there.
It was my first time going to an Outback.
The waitress was very helpful when we told her I was gluten free and she wrote it down on her pad as I was ordering so the kitchen staff would know that I was celiac. She even spent some time at our table with us discussing it, brought me the GF menu at my dinner date's request so we could look it over and made sure the bread he ordered was not near my food so no crumbs might accidentally contaminate my meal (which my ex-bf did as well
since his mom is also celiac and he is knowledgable regarding the disease.)

All in all we had an excellent experience there and the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under was awesome...we shared it. Very Happy

Hi LB,

Welcome to the board! Glad to hear you had a good experience during your 1st visit to an Outback!

Thanks for sharing!!

Hope you've been doing well during that past couple of years being GF.

Oh yes!! Quite well. Very Happy

I feel so much better being gluten free though I did accidentally gluten myself about two weeks ago. I was horribly sick for a few days.

Thank you so much for your warm welcome. Very Happy

I have to say that the Outback in Arlington, TX is excellent as well. That Chocolate Thunder is the best GF dessert I have had!
