Warning! Warning! Danger Will Robinson!
OK, this is officially the nastiest cereal I've ever had. I picked it up thinking "OH! I love granola and raisins and cinnamon. And the picture on the box looks good."
*facepalm*
It looks nothing like the box. You know that fiberboard stuff they use to make cheap desks? It has the consistency of that. And it's brown.
The garbage disposal actually cried out in terror when I dumped it down the drain. Complete waste of money. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I tried it when I was first diagnosed. They first bowl I didn't think was too bad. But the next time I ate it I could hardly get it down. I told myself I would never buy this one again.
So I totally agree with you. I wouldn't waste my money. I am so sick of the same old cereals, I wish someone would come out with some good ones. |

I bought a box of the berry flavor. It is gag-alicious and has been remaindered to the "emergency-there's-nothing-left-in-the-house-to-eat" pile. The only way it is even close to palatable is when added to yogurt. _________________ Nance

I'm so happy that I don't care for the normal breakfast foods. Have any of you called Enjoy Life out about the misrepresentation of the photo on the box?

I thought it was OK. Not my favorite, but not horrible. It was OK in yogurt. _________________ -Colleen

I've never bought Enjoy Life anything. I bought a $7 pkg of Perky-O cereal. Blech. _________________ Mom of Ty (he's nine) who was diagnosed by bloodwork June 2005, biopsy August 11, 2005, notified on & started GF August 18, 2005 |

I wouldn't want to eat a bowl of Perky-o's, but they are good in Party Mix. _________________ -Colleen

Yeah, I tried that Enjoy Life granola cereal, too...
YUK! Even Emmett wouldn't touch it...you know it's not a good thing when your sweet-tooth cat won't eat something!
It's funny, since going GF, I really don't eat that much cereal...I don't drink milk (don't like it, plus I have a lactose issue), so any cereal I eat has to be good as a snack food...I like the Health Valley Rice/Corn Crunch 'Ems, personally. _________________ ~Torrey

Second this. I'm still on an EnviroKids kick, but I'm always on the lookout for new cereal. Especially new cereal at my local store (not 30-45 mins. away at WF). So I was pretty excited about this stuff. Oh well. The hunt continues! I'm glad I'm not the only one who had issues with it.
Nance, this didn't even make it into the "emergency food" pile! I think I'd rather go gnaw on some furniture. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

Heh heh. Just realized I should've called them "Pukeyos".
My favourite GF cereal is Nature's Path Honey'd Corn Flakes. In fact, when Ty moves out (not anytime soon, I imagine, he's not quite 8 after all) I will probably keep on buying these; I think they're the best corn flakes cereal around. Kellogg's are you listening? There's no malt in them! I've seen Nature's Path at all the regular groceries (not WalMart).
Ty hasn't had Envirokids for a long time, he only ever liked the chocolate rice krispie kind. He didn't like the gorilla munch. My biggest problem with
Envirokidz (same company as Nature's Path) is that the labels in the corner are all disguised exactly the same way and I think it's very easy to pick up a NGF pkg by mistake. They all have the three bars in the corner that say: whole grain, organic, gluten free, extra gluten, whatever and only the words change and you have to be careful to pick up the right box.
There was a corn pops type cereal at Superstore that was GF. I think it was President's Choice brand, not sure if you have that south of the 49th or not.
Ty also likes Kinnikrisp Rice Krispies. I think they have a weird aftertaste. It's are reasonably priced as far as cereal goes. We get it at the HFS. _________________ Mom of Ty (he's nine) who was diagnosed by bloodwork June 2005, biopsy August 11, 2005, notified on & started GF August 18, 2005 |

Ugh, yeah, that stuff is revolting.
Have you tried the Bakery on Main granolas? They're pretty tasty, but pricy, so they're an occasional treat for me.
I may be strange in that I actually like the Frosted and Apple-Cinnamon Perky-O's. I also like Mesa Sunrise (I think that's Nature's Path) and Envirokidz' Koala Krisp/Amazon Crunch. I actually am not all that fond of Gorilla Munch (it seems most shops think it's the only GF cereal out there ). |

OK - I have changed my mind on Perkyo's. I tasted them again, and they really are horrible. I tried to feed them to the chickens, and they wouldn't eat them either. You know a food is gross when the chickens won't even eat them.
I recently tried Ceros, and those are much better than Perkyo's. _________________ -Colleen

| lol. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who hates both of those cereals (Perky-Os and the cinnamon crunch stuff) When I had the crunch cereal I was so amazed they could sell it. My husband said well people have different tastes (but he didn't try it) It was cardboard and it was difficult to chew. I don't usually waste food but I'm pretty sure I threw that out. |

I hate wasting money too, especially so much money (that stuff was expensive). However, there's NO way I would've finished the box. It would've rotted on the shelf in the pantry. Might as well dump it down the drain, before it mutates and takes over the world. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={
