Because if you missed all the hype you live under a rock. Laughing

So did anybody buy it? How is it? I want answers from real people, not "all glory to Microsoft" professional reviews.

**moving aside my rock to peek out**

Sorry, I didn't know anything about it. People get pretty excited about these newfangled gamey things.

Hope you get some good info.

You guys didn't see all the product placement around this stupid game? Shocked The car ads, Slurpee cups, Mt. Dew boxes, etc? The hundreds of people waiting in line outside Best Buy/Circuit City/Gamestop?

Nope, sorry. Guess I'm living under a rock slide. Laughing But then living with two teenagers I pretty much know how to completely filter out anything to do with gaming with no problems at all. Rolling Eyes

Not a thing! Avoid electronic stores like the plague, don't drink pop and can't remember the last time I had slush, and ALWAYS channel surf during commercials. I guess I'm an advertising agencies worst nightmare.

LOL @ TEC! I can tune out some things, but not stuff that's constantly being shoved in my face. Halloween around here is the same way (black and orange and candy everywhere).

It was like a ghost town yesterday at work. Several guys stood in line at midnight to get their copies, then took work off so they could play all day.

Oh, and did I mention the movie that'll be out eventually? The one made by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings)?

For those of you (like TEC) who want to look "down with it" with young relatives, you can learn more about Halo here.

My rock resides in the same home as a gamer, so I sort of knew about it, but didn't realize its popularity until I heard how long people stood in line to get it!

Husband said to me, "Duh!" Laughing

Well, my two sons (22 and 14) knew about it and talked about it ...so...I knew about it....but if it were not for them I would have been clueless...22 y/o son said his roomates and neighbors had purchased it, but he was home sick the night it came out, so he hadn't played it yet as of the last time I talked to him.....We used to have halo parties over here every Sunday night...we would have over about 10-12 people, usually teen age boys....we would have 4 TV's hooked up in different rooms and they would have a really good time! I have a two story house, soo there would be wires trailing down the bannister and across the living room and into my bedroom....lol...I sometimes wondered where I could go to hide Very Happy ...But all those halo players went off to college and now they have those halo parties at there own apts or dorm rooms

Peeks out from under the black veil. I am a Halo 3 widow. DH stood in line with the kids to buy it for himself on the release night at midnight then came home and played till 4am.... (as opposed to 24 hours straight - ya know, cause he's a *responsible* adult) Rolling Eyes I guess everyone's got to have a hobby. (Better than last time where he took 3 days off work to play - must be nice.)

He did drag me downstairs last night to show me what all the hubbub was about. The graphics were even more amazing than the last one and he had to disarm this giant walking spider/robot thing that was pretty cool. Then I get called down a little later so he can show me the graphics on a tunnel area with these "breathing" pod things. I guess it's neat, but it's sooo not my cup of tea.

Oz, where you thinking about picking the game up?

Yeah, I saw a lot of ads, commercials, etc. about it, but I haven't purchased it...
*too afraid after having become COMPLETELY addicted to Ever Quest several years ago* Wink
Looks like an awesome game, though...Os, did you guys pick it up at all?

No, I don't think we'll be picking it up. I'm still working on Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Eternal Sonata. DH is still working on Blue Dragon. And the new Katamari game is coming out soon. *sigh* Too many games. Once all that's done....maybe. Wink I just wanted to hear some reviews from normal people. Plus my FPS (first-person shooter) skills are laughable. DH would be the only one playing it.

P.S. - For all you guys who are looking to get games for kids this Christmas, all those are awesome (and kid friendly) games.
