Within the past few days i have come to the conclusion im wheat intolerant...Which has just been "confirmed" by my doctor, as the RAST blood test results were negative. The soybean test was also negative.
But, the yeast was highly positive! Ahhhhhh! SO now i have to cut the yeast out of my diet as well, but i have no idea where to start with it all.
She also suggested that the positive yeast allergy results were wrong and that she should test me again, because apparently everyone of my symptoms is psychosomatic! Sorry for another venting thread!
Any help on eliminating yeast would be much appreciated too!!

Sorry about the bad news Kara! Sad If you look around in the recipe section there's quite a few recipes that are yeast free. I *think* most of them belong to MrsP. Maybe she can help ya out.

Of course, you might want to make sure you really have a problem with yeast before trying to cut it out of your diet. Would it be bad to get another allergy test?

Hi Kara,

I have a friend that can't have yeast. It's kind of confusing. I'll see if I can get some info from her. When she gets yeasted, her world literally spins. She's so dizzy that she must hang on to walls when she tries to walk.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies!
Ostrich- Another test for it is a good idea..but down here(australia that is!) Medicare only covers 4 RAST tests in a 12 month period, if i was to get tested for everything else as well as yeast, it would cost somewhere around teh $400 mark! And i have to wait till at least march to see an allergist for the food skin prick tests/allergy shots for house dust mites!
But i have looked back over the food ive eaten in the past few days that ive got horrible symptoms from, and from even the few ingredients i know that contain yeast, they seem to be setting it off for me! So no more vegan and GF gummi bears for me haha!

Aklap- thanks for those links, all i got when searching for yeast allergy is stuff about curing yeast infections, nothing on the allergy side!
That hanging onto walls because of dizziness thing sounds way too familiar! If you do get some info from her, itd be very very very much appreciated, there is such a lack of good info around about it!

Hi Kara,

Actually, if you'd like, you could register at www.glutenfreeandbeyond.org/forum and get it first hand from her Wink Her user name is ANNELB. I know she'd be more than happy to answer your questions!

GFAB deals with a lot of other things outside of gluten and in greater detail - than we do here - hence the andbeyond part. Wink

...and if you're get wondering...yes, the GFAB AKLAP is the same as celiacforums AKLAP Wink

Ouch! I can't blame you for not wanting to get tested again. Sad If you're finding a link between yeast and your problems then by all means try avoiding yeast.

Not too bad i spose, as i just found out my allergist appointment is january 8th, apparently my case is "urgent"!!
Just wondering, to have a positive skin prick test to foods, do you have to be eating them at the time?
