OK - I'm fessin' up - I too am a bass player. Six strings is too many for me, though. If I want that many I'll (try to) play guitar. LOL! I had a five-string but sold it to a professional bass player bud because it just sat there, lonely, and needed to get out more.
My playing has been minimal since becoming a mom (bar bands/late nights/time to practice or even jam being low on the priority list).
Rock on bass babes! _________________ Nance

I'd have to dig for a pic - it's been awhile.
Bass Talk - never heard of it. I'll give it a listen - thanks Al. _________________ Nance

Wow, more bass players, how awesome!
Sorry but i havent ever been in a band thats actually made,it to the point of playing shows, so no action shots unfortunatly, thats partially because im only 20 and been playing since i was 13 so all the musos ive played with, who are mainly teenage/early 20's guys were more interested in trying to sleep with me than play music!.... But i do have some pics of my bass and my amp if youd like to see, i just have no idea how to post them here! |

Unlike all the cool musicians on here I just have old lady fuddy-duddy hobbies.... like quilting and gardening. Anyway in the process of finishing up the quilting on this guy and then just need to bind it (it's a very late Christmas gift for my in-laws. Ooops. I'm hoping to finish it by the end of the month.
Also working on some blocks for a block of the month group I'm apart of... I still have six months to go on this guy!
I also have a baby quilt in process for little Sophie but I'd better hurry up! She's not quite so little anymore.

What a talented bunch of people in this group! Obviously a symptom of CD. So now we know there are at least 251 sx of CD! LOL
Jenn, your quilts are beautiful! I'm a quilter too. I recognize so many of the fabrics in your quilt (actually own a lot of them). One thing about quilters, we might forget a face, but we never forget a fabric! I'd say you are a lot like me in your choice of fabrics. I see 1800's repros, contempo (Amy Butler, I believe), and thirties repros. My tastes are all over the place, and it's all good! I'm even starting to dip my toes into the ocean of art quilting, which is something I never thought I'd do.
Sophie is beautiful, and her quilt is perfect. Even though you didn't get it done while she was an infant it will grow with her because you didn't use "baby" fabrics. I'm sure she will cherish it.
Off to do some quilting of my own today. I have an extensive "stash". My goal is to whittle that down this year. Watch out DDs and grandchildren; there will be quilts galore coming your way!!!

| I sew, cross stitch, scrapbook, make handmade cards, do some woodburning. Quilting is on the top of my list to start next, but not sure when it's gonna happen. |

Well, I cook, I bake, now am playing some with GF pastries and the like... I decorate my home (I love decorating.. were it not for the math involved to take a course, I'd sign up for a home-decorating course so I could do that for myself and friends), I love doing florals (Silk and live), I dabble some in cross stitch, and I do some macrame (Religious related) - though only one kind.
I love taking photos, and typically when I do they are full of different color/lighting and textures. I love lighting and textures and colors... they tend to be a theme in my decorating as well.
I can sing, but I haven't been in choir for a looooong long time. _________________

Hey my hobby is a bit out of the ordinary...and no it is most certainly NOT juggling flaming torches while skateboarding, although one of my friends can...i know-it's very concerning to me as well. Anyway my hobbies are martial arts aka karate, staff fighting, throwing stars(the sharp things ninjas throw), and swordsmanship-which is pretty unusual for a 13 yr old lol! _________________ "Given enough time, any man may master the physical. You're almost there. It should look similar to this..

You've got the syntax of the IMG line correct - it's just a matter of getting a link to the picture. You might have grabbed the wrong link from the imageshack page. _________________ Al
