I have had this itching on the base of my scalp and itching and blisters on both ankles for a couple of days. I have been gluten free on the inside since June. I couldn't figure out what was going on with me. Can you be CD and DH also? I started thinking about the products I use on my body and thought maybe it's my shampoo, so I call J Paul Mitchell Systems to ask about their products. I use their Tea Tree products. A very lovely lady called me back to tell me that most Paul Mitchell products do have gluten in them. The biggy is wheat germ oil. I hadn't checked the labels of products because I thought I just had CD (on the inside of my body). I'm a big fan of Paul Mitchell products since my fiance's name is Paul Mitchell. Very Happy (No relation) A lot of salons carry these products and use them on you when they shampoo you. Just thought I would pass this on.

I suffered from itchy blistery painful skin for years, changed my diet & withing a few months it went away. Be patient with the diet change. I choose to use mostly natural products & try to avoid wheat germ etc in anything, even topically... I sued my sisters moiturizer the other day (with wheat germ oil) & my face instantly broke out (good thing it lasted on ly 1 day)

I have both DH and CD. You may also be allergic to iodine which is very common to DH. Try dropping the iodine, especially in your fish and salt products. It really helps with the itching big time. When I continued itching the DR tested me for the iodine and the literature says they do go hand in hand. Hope this help.
Have a great day.

I was glad to see others have had trouble getting their user name to log in. It was very frustrating for me.

Thanks for the advise. I also wanted to know something else. I painted my daughters room last weekend and my face broke out. My face never breaks out. Could the fumes do anything to my skin? Thanks in advance.

My husband has both CD and DH and he is very sensitive to iodine. It was actually the DH that cropped up before the Celiac gastro-symptoms (except for terrible belching!) I even use plain salt so he doesn't get the iodine from salt. Eaten in small amounts he does fine with the iodine, but last summer he had a run on eating shellfish and was miserable with DH.
