Thanks for all the help everyone! I got the info from Disney that you sent me and it is a great help but they were pretty nonspecific about other locations in EPCOT (the Showcase of Nations). Does anyone have any good GF finds in the countries, whether counter service or site down?
Thanks! |

Hi Mas,
I went to the US...Liberty town hall or something like that... It's way on the far end of Epcot, you have to walk alllll the way around the "lake"
I'll go and look to see exactly what it was...
Here it is...
| Quote: | Epcot®
Liberty Inn (located at The American Adventure in World Showcase) serves all beef burgers and all beef hot dogs. The French fries in this location are cooked in dedicated fryers. Gluten-free pizzas may be available without advance notice. Gluten-free or dairy- free ice cream is generally available. Gluten-free bread and/or rolls are generally available as well. Please ask to see a manager upon arrival and they will be happy to assist you. Locations are able to adapt their menu items slightly, but please allow additional time for any special requests made without advance notice.
If you need any additional information, contact Epcot Special Diet line at 407-560-6395 or by e-mail at wdwecspecialdiets at email.disney.com |
Keep in mind, this is almost 1 year old. I'd call the above number or email them directly to ask about specific countries.
Coral Reef is another Epcot eatery. Keep in mind, it's pricey. I think our meal there was over 100.00. We had the dining plan, so it was a good deal. I had an issue with my chef at Coral Reef, but that's not to say the other chefs are like that. It really is a great place to see. The fish are very cool to see!!!!
Are you going on the dining plan? _________________ Al

Hello again!
This trip was a spontaneous cheap flight... let's go to Epcot (we leave tomorrow night!! =) ) but the big trip in May is DDP. I always love eating at all the countries in the showcase, so I have been trying to figure out what I can eat there now... |

Count me in!!!!!!!!!!
Please, let us know what you find out on the other countries. This was not a priority of mine, so I didn't expend any energy on it.
Good luck! _________________ Al

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply... I switched jobs and have been busy settling in...
The staff at Disney was AWESOME! The chef from Caribbean Beach Resort called me the day our flight left for Fl. wondering if I would want pasta for dinner at the resort... if so, he just needed to know what time our flight landed and he would have it ready for me =) I actually went for the burger and fries and when we got there (quite late... around 10pm) the staff at the food court was GREAT! Some of the food court college program participants had never heard of celiac and almost gave me the wrong fries, so the chef turned it into a great teaching moment too about what celiac was, and why it was so crucial to make sure things were done properly. I was very impressed. I didn't eat a ton at the park the next day. a salad at the electric umbrella for me, another burger (a LONG time since I had had burgers with buns!! ) =) and also the brownies at EPCOT in the land were AWESOME! Even at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney the chef came right out to the table to talk about what I liked and didn't and made a great dish!
My dance students are performing there in May (the Magic Kingdom) and we are staying for 6 days and we already have priority dining res. at several restaurants. After my one day experience post-celiac diagnosis, I can honestly say that Disney was the most accomodating place EVER and I love it there more now than I EVER did before =) |
