I am afraid baking soda it is! I haven't found a corn free toothpaste yet.

I am glad that you liked the mock cornbread!

Bob's makes a sorghum flour. You can find it at Indian markets also. It is called juwar flour in the Indian market that I found it in.

Millet is in the rice family, but it has a great flavor.Once you are healed a little, you should try quinoa to help make a bread.

I think that I posted my rice free flour on the bread board. Use the guar and the corn free baking powder. When a recipe calls for vinegar (in cakes and breads) try putting about 1/4 of that amount in baking powder. I have found that works.

When it calls for soured milk, I get a buttermilk that is corn free.

Ifyou think that it is salicylates, then stay away from cream of tartar........that is very high!

I use only Daisy Sour Cream. That is all milk and just the enzymes. The others are out as far as MrP is concerned.

You can get goat sour cream or sheep sour cream and a tofu sour cream at Whole Foods........those work in a pinch.

Thanks for all that info Mrsp!
Im not sure Bob's has a distributer down here though, but i'll check out the indian markets for sure.
Another thing, ive got another appointment with a new allergist next week(hopefully!) and they have to redo the skin prick tests, coz i had to take prednisolone 2 days before the last one coz of the rice reaction, and no one told me it would affect the tests. Which explains why my dust mite and grass allergies are worse than ever but the last skinprick was negative, as they were positive when i had the test when i was 13! Heres hoping this new allergist knows what she is on about. My dietitian kinda doesnt know what shes on about either, she suggested trying cous cous, to which i replied "thats just pure wheat pretty much" then she said "is it? i'll look into it!".

Wow, sounds like you've really been through the ringer. I admire your perseverance. I too am on a rice-free (and many other things-free) diet.

I have a bunch of easy recipes here:

I hope this helps!
