Is Paul Newman's microwave popcorn still gluten free? I have a GIG book that is a 2003 edition and it said that Paul Newman popcorn was gluten free. I just wanted to make sure that it still is. I can call but I thought maybe someone on this site might know. Also are Hershey chocolate bars still gluten free? I thought I saw on this site that they might not be anymore and I wanted to see if someone might know. I can also call tomorrow but I was craving one tonight. Thanks for the info! Smile

Hi M,

Take a look at this list: http://www.newmansown.com/faqs.cfm#q6

Scroll down to the popcorn. Don't eat too much Wink

To my knowledge the plain chocolate bars are GF. I don't believe these have "Natural Flavors" that Hershey's won't disclose it's make up. They don't consider NF's to be GF.

Ingred list for the plain choc bars: Milk Choc (sugar, milk, cocoa butter, choc, soy lecithin, vanillin, artificial flavor).

I like Nestle better anyway. Thank you to Nestle for being concerned about us.

Yeah, Hershey's is not the best in their labeling. I avoid it except for their 'dark' cocoa, because I haven't found anything else quite like it and I *love* it.

Guittard, if you can get it, is all GF (and so are their practices/facilities) according to their website, and in this wannabe-chcoloate-snob's opinion, great stuff. Target tends to carry at least their chocolate chips.

*Most* but not all Ghirardelli is also ok (I have called them before and do pretty well if I stick to the dark chocolate products). Lindt truffles are NOT GF (dagnabbit...)

Hey - since pigs can snuffle out truffles, maybe they can be taught to snuffle out gluten.

Hostess at a fancy restaurant: "I'm sorry sir, we don't allow animals in here"
Al: "Oh, he's OK..That's Wilbur - he's my gluten pig. You know, like a seeing eye dog? Certainly you would let a seeing eye dog in here. We all know that pigs are the cleanest of animals..." Shocked

"Gluten Pig, gluten pig, does whatever a gluten pig does.."

OOOOHHH Al.... That link was more information than I needed.

However, since we're talking special rights for us CDers such as a gluten- sniffing pig, shouldn't we ask for reserved "parking" right next to the restroom in restaurants, just in case the pig falls down on the job? Wink

Much love for that movie.

I'm telling you, they should do a study on us. Where else could you find so many people in one place with such obvious ADD issues?

It frightens me to think what a study about some other threads would determine.

Something would be very wrong if we managed to stay on topic!

Actually, it's the very thing that makes me love this board. I like the relaxed feel of it. Structured enough to be helpful, yet easy-going enough to be fun.
