I just got back from a family lunch for my Grandmas birthday and needed to share this.
I wasn't eating at this particular lunch, as i can only eat a few foods without getting sick. But when i was passed a menu, to my surprise, there was about 10 different meals on it which all had "GF" in bold red lettering! I couldn't believe it! Too bad i couldn't eat any of them, but at least i know there is one restaurant nearby that caters to the GF folk for the future if i can eventually add some foods back in.
As it turns out, my uncles girlfriends mother is celiac, annd after i mentioned the GF status of alot of the menu she went and booked them in for mothers day lunch!
* I just realised this should've been posted in the Dining out Forum! Sorry! |

Hi Kara,
Yeah, it's cool when you see stuff like that. Sorry that you couldn't partake in any of it
No worries - I'll move it to the dining forum

No change really since the last time i posted, except for now i can manage a bit of soy! Which also means i can include a tiny bit of chocolate in my diet, probably not the wisest thing to be doing, but hey, im keeping it down arent i?! I can now also have broccoli too! So thats now 3 items from fruits and veggies i can have!
I'm seeing my gastro doc tommorrow, hopefully he can come up with something...im starting to go a bit nutty without any rice and potatoes! Although part of me keeps thinking it's not even totally a food issue, but the gluten & yeast free is gonna stay even if its not, coz its helped with the bowel related stuff....the reason i think this is because its not normal to start shaking after everytime you eat something. I'm also starting immunotherapy shots for house dust mites in june or july, and have to have all sorts of tests for my asthma, i think its called a EVH and Mannitol test or something!
So yes, in conclusion im still pretty much in the same position i was a few months back! |
