What kind of chips and salsa can I use that is GF??

so important, what kind of chips and salsa is useable, and rice refried?

We generally stick with tortilla chips that are plain because the only ingredients are corn, oil and salt. Plain Doritos are fine as are Mission corn tortilla chips. Trader Joe's makes a great tortilla chip, and I like it because it has about half the fat grams of the Doritos.

We use homemade salsa, but there are lots of other brands that are safe. Taco bell, lots of store brands. Trader Joe's peach salsa is to die for.

I LOVE Mission Tortilla chips - they state that they are gluten free on the package. I also use Pace salsa - medium. Enjoy!

I know that UTZ tortilla chips are gluten free as are most of their potato chips. It even states it on the back of the bag. Down on the left side below the ingredients. I was also informed that Ortega salsa is gluten free. I have eaten these and I am gluten free I have had no problems. Hope this helps you out

505 Organic Southwestern Salsa is GF and states it right on the bottle. Great stuff, sold at King Soopers (Kroger), even our local Walmart. Not sure how wide their distribution is...may be limited to the southwest.
Whole Foods organix white corn chips (as well as many of their other varieties) are GF last time I checked.

I like Tostido's Corn Tortilla chips (however I have found they are a bit salty lately) and Amy's Organic Salsa (medium)...great snack or treat with tacos! The salsa says gluten free right on the jar!

I have to chime in on this thread, because we have discovered chips that are so yummy I will literally smuggle them into a restaurant if I can get away with it! We now ONLY ever get the Tostitos Naturals - I like the blue corn and my husband likes the yellow corn. They're made from organic corn, only use expeller pressed sunlower oil and sea salt (no preservatives) and aren't too terribly salty, except at the very bottom of the bag. A serving has 80 mg of sodium. How do I know this? I just checked the bag I keep in my office cupboard!

There might be a caveat that they probably cost more than other chips - I don't really look. It can't be that much more though, and they are so much better than any other store brand (and most restaurants') that they're well worth it. They actually taste like corn, not oil, and Frito Lay should be paying me from their marketing budget for how I rhapsodize about them to everyone. Okay, stepping off the soap box now.

OH, and I second the folks who say to go with either the Green Mountain Gringo and Newman's Own salsas. They're what we have when it's not tomato season and my husband can't make his killer homemade salsa.

Hmmmmm, I'm new to this but here's what I found from Frito-lay which ain't good as the 2nd last paragraph I posted at the top says it all; Staxx are the only ones guareenteed Thus at this point I don't eat any corn chips unless they actually say gluten free.
