There are sooo many cook books for either one but i dont wanna fork out the money and buy to many 30$ books (i hate cooking anyways). Most of the GF cook books has alot of hard recipes (for me that means over 5 diff. items and takes more than 45 mins.) And i am now finding out that im L.I Sad Sad Maybe anyone could tell me some low fat, fast, l.i and gf cooking books to check out , then my frown can turn upside down?! Thanks bunches.

What do you mean "L.I."?

I have one cookbook that I use a lot even though it's not technically GF. It's Saving Dinner the Low Carb Way, by Leanne Ely. She is a nutritionist who advocates cutting way back on the refined carbs, thus the "low-carb". Her recipes are quick, easy, economical and absolutely delicious. Her books are set up using weekly menu plans that even include shopping lists. She maximizes use of certain ingredients during the week to minimize waste. All the recipes in her book would easily convert to GF if they aren't already, i.e. make sure chicken broth is GF.... I have yet to make a recipe of hers that I don't like.

She even has a web-site where she offers what she calls menu mailers. You subscribe, and she e-mails you a menu every week with shopping list included. She offers a GF menu mailer that utilizes her low-carb menu mailer modified to be GF. You can go onto her web-site and down load a sample menu to see if you like her stuff. That would save you the cost of buying a cookbook if you decide you don't like her stuff. Here's the link. http://www.savingdinner.com/

Al, I've been wondering if we could use a section on the board just for cookbook reviews? Like motox said, cookbooks are $$$, and it's hard to know which ones are good when you first go GF, because it's not like any other cooking style. I think reviews would just get lost in the recipe discussion section, but a section people could go to for CB reviews would work well IMHO. I'd like to hear how others might feel about this. I wouldn't want to make more work for someone if no one would be interested.

edited...Duh! as I whack myself upside the head. L.I. lactose intolerant!!! LOL sorry. Didn't sleep well last night, so not responsible for lapses in AM.

Welcome to the board! I moved this post to another forum for better visibility.

Hmmmm, Low carb, GF & Dairy Free cookbooks...that are easy...maybe some of our cookbook aficionados can offer up a few suggestions.

Is your LI secondary to your gluten intolerance [damaged villi can't produce enzyme to break down lactose] or are you just plain LI [do not produce the enzymes period]?

If y'all want another forum for CB reviews - I'm fine with that. It's easy enough to add.

Hey Moto, my brother races. For 20 years, he'd leave snowy WI, and come to FL to race/ride in the winter for a few weeks. Smile It looks like you have an interesting career! Cool
