Hello. I'm curious if you ever found out what was causing these knots? I have been overly exhausted, sleeping a lot, with many other symptoms for the past 2 1/2 months. I thought it was just because I hadn't been 100% gluten free, and that's when I found this forum.

But the exhaustion is getting worst, the muscle pain and cramps in my neck and shoulders is so unbearable that sometimes I cry. Did anyone ever figure out what this was? Or what to do about it? I had thought the pain was from accidents years ago that flaired up, and the exhaustion and such were unrelated. Seeing these posts, I think its related. Help?

Hear me out... Get your Thyroid levels checked. T3, T4 AND TSH.
IF that isn't it... have them look and see what minerals and vitamins you are deficient in.. and I guarantee you if you can get that supplimented and your food adjusted, you'll feel loads better. Very Happy

I finally peiced together the puzzle that was my fatigue and complaints from January on (And I have not at all been glutened other than my hand having a reaction from touching some crumbs left on my inlaws coffee table -- which I promptly scrubbed off!!) and asked that my levels be checked after twice in the month suffering from migraines, restlessness and sleepless nights and a night with a panic attack because I had trouble breathing.

I did some checking since thyroid issues run in the family (incl the folks who refuse to hear anything at the diet and ascribe it all to hypocondria and "allergy inflexibility issues" ) Rolling Eyes -- I asked the doctor to look into it since my iron levels fell. Sure enough, I was right and I need to see an endocrinologist now just to make sure me and baby are ok, and to check the baby out 2 weeks after he's born as well. My thyroid issue is "Latent" (Silent)... so it took putting all the symptoms together and the blood test to even have an idea there was a problem, as all the issues couldbe written off as pregnancy complaints, or the changing weather, or the fact as a celiac I have a different diet...

If you think there's something wrong, it never ever hurts to ask... and if you get written off and ask for a blood test, press for it just for peace of mind... or get a second opinion.

I really don't think I have mono, but i am always tired. I just want to sleep all the time. When I am driving to work, if I don't have a cup of coffee I fall asleep behind the wheel. It's scary when you go up a curb. I am thankful that was as bad as it got. The coffee seems to help with the drive, but during the day I want to sleep at my desk. Sometimes on lunch I go to my car and take a nap. I have increased my vitamins, decreased my vitamins, exercised, I get 7 hours of sleep a night. I don't know what else to do. My husband thinks I'm lazy. I have had my thyroid and my vitamin levels tested and they all seem fine. I am looking for any explanation for this. I don't think my lymph nodes are swollen but I am not sure where they even are.

Have you discussed this with your PCP? I looked through your early posts, and you never said how much villi damage you had. You've only been GF since January, so I'm wondering if you haven't healed enough yet. When you are new to GF accidental glutening is an ever-present reality, until you get the diet totally figured out. Any gluten ingestion is bound to slow healing.

Another possibility is this; are you eating a lot of processed GF products, i.e. cookies, sugary foods, etc.? When I first went GF I stripped my diet down the the boot-camp version and felt amazing within 2 weeks. My energy levels went through the roof! Then I learned to bake GF, and also found GF treats I loved at health food stores, etc. I was shortly feeling like crap again. Now I'm back to cleaning up my act. Let's face it, junk food is junk food in any language- whether it's GF or not. When you have CD, you want every to calorie you eat to be as nutritious as possible, especially during the healing phase. My doctor and I were just talking the other day about this. She feels that eating a lot of highly processed grain products (GF or non-GF) isn't good for anyone.

Here's a link that shows the general distribution of lymph nodes.

I would strongly recommend you mention your fatigue to your PCP again, if you haven't already.

How are your adrenals? I would recommend a 24 hour saliva test for cortisol. It is inexpensive.

I discovered that despite the natural fluctuation of cortisol, super high in the early am, super low at noon, and relatively low the rest of the day and night, I was extra high and extra low.

When I got to the extra low times, I could barely walk. I slept a lot. I was less feeling sleepy than body needing rest and recharging.

Thanks, I know I have had accidentally been glutened several times. You are right, I do eat a lot of processed foods even though they are gf. I think that I do need to strip down my diet to the bare minerals. I have not had enough time to heal yet. My tissue transglutiminase is 11.45 should be <4 The rest of my levels were within range. I have no idea what that means but by that number they got the dx of celiac. I think I just want to be more normal. So I am trying to rush myself. I think I may also be lactose intolerant as well, so I am trying to watch that more. as well. I will slow down and do it the right way.

Thanks

I've had my thyroid checked, iron levels, liver and kidney function, and CBC. I think that's it. All were normal. My PCP doesn't do vitamin mineral testing.
I'm waiting for my body to clear out a bunch of the anit-inflammatories that I was on to check my adrenal gland function. Doc sais the NSAIDS would alter the levels. So I have to wait. My accupuncturist is awesome and I have more or less given my treatment over to him to take care of me. He is well educated, and definitely more knowledgeable. Difference is insurance doesn't cover him, and instead of the $4 co-pay for meds, its whatever the herbs cost.
Anyone else try to balance doctors?

My life is all about doctors. I plan my life around them. Chiro every week psychologist every 2 weeks, psychiatrist every 2 months. theraputic Massage every other week. PCP every 3 months or more as needed. GI, gyne... It gets to be a lot sometimes.

Yeah. Me too. I started going to doctors like crazy many many years ago. Sometime 5 visits a week. I had to purposely work nights to leave my days open for the doc, then I'd hardly ever see my husband. Its been miserable. I'm learning to make some life adjustments though. I have been so so sick latley. Exhausted, muscle cramps, joint pain. I'm over it. I want it done. I've realized the value in life and small things. Grown a lot. Maybe I can make some good life chages permanently, if I get healthy, I hope I never forget what I've learned. I do hope I get healthy, very much.
