| I plan to pay off some bills. I think it is funny because with prices so high I'll bet most people either save it to pay for gas or just save it. So it won't really stimulate the economy. |

Actually, the government doesn't want you to pay for gas with it either. 80% of what you pay for gas goes overseas. They'd rather have you spend it on American-made products.

Ours will go into the money market account we use to build our retirement home in Kentucky.
Personally I just think this is just such a gimic. The national debt is a kazillion dollars but somehow sending everyone a personal check from our good friend George is supposed to make everything all better. Like we don't know we are going to be paying off this windfall for years to come, with interest.
Lets not do something truly worth while, like end the war or find better sources for fuel. _________________ CD by Biopsy 3/25/88 |

My husband insists we spend ours to stimulate the economy which is fine by me! We're either going to buy some American-made clothes for me or treat ourselves to some massages or something like that. |

Capitol One (pre-paid summer camp for DS - ouch!) and
Ticketmaster (Stevie Wonder's coming, among others I must see/hear).
I'd rather spend it all on fun stuff, but then I'd be wholesale perpetuating the government's folly in sending out the checks. _________________ Nance

Saving ours for a trip to KY in the fall. Our daughter is expecting baby number 2 in July, and DH still hasn't met the first one. Work was so crazy all last year that he couldn't get away, and this winter when we could have gone, he was out of work all winter, so no trips were happening then. Now hubby will have 2 granddaughters to spoil this fall! Not to mention that we'll see all the other grandchildren then too, since they all (except 1) live in the south. _________________ Steph |

1. Putting new tires on our car. I LOVE that my husband works at a tire place, so we get good deals.
2. Taking a trip to Kentucky to see my sister and niece. YAY!!!!
3. The remainder is going into our savings account. _________________ "The electrocution was not my fault. You refused to wear the rubber underpants!"

The whole thing is ridiculous! Such a freaking waste of taxpayer money. How many people will actually spend their money on US made products.
Perhaps I'll drive my new Japanese made automobile to British Petroleum(BP) where I'll fill it up and then head to Walmart* and buy a cart full of Chinese made junk and go wild and crazy and stop for Indian food on my way home.
*The Walmart mention was tongue in cheek says she who does everything possible to not shop there. |

Second what Al said. $10 says 90% of the stuff you owned was made outside the US. _________________ Ostrich :>--O==={

I'll take the money, be glad to have it, and say "Thank you sir, may I have another"! We are paying off 2 credit cards, taking a small vacation somewhere (a few nights). Anything that is left over I will use to build back up my food storage. Things have been very tight in our house lately, and I have been needing to rely on my food storage more than I would like lately. _________________ -Colleen

| I just went out and bought a $100.00 worth of Tinkyada noodles, kinninnick donuts and other gluten free foods. I'm good to go for 6 months. Tomarrow I'm going to buy a small freezer to freeze all my food. |

So, I've heard but it's getting exceedingly difficult to prove as of late. |
