| I know how you feel. I think I am lactose intolerant, but I don't want to know for sure because I am afraid it will lead to corn allergies or tomatoes.... I feel like I have cut my diet as plain as I can get, but I too need choices. There is a gluten free store that I go to and the manager is intolerant to so much besides having cd. I just can't imagine what her diet must be like. it is one of my nightmares. |

I have been attached to my lap top lately looking for more info on CD and to find good GFCF diet guides. After weeks of looking I found a good website that gave me ideas of what to eat and what not to eat. I hope this site can help others. I was pleased to see some food I actually enjoy.
This site has helped with the depression of the test results. Yes, I know things could be much worse but it still sad to me. I wouldn't say I am completely gfcf free but I am getting much better at it. I am still on the South Beach diet and having some success on that. I am glad that I had just started the diet when I found out about all of my allergies because it was easy since I had already cut down to meats and veggies. 14lbs. in 18 days. Here is the website http://gfcf-diet.talkaboutcuringautism.org/hidden-sources-of-gluten.htm
I found the link about what you can buy at the grocery store very motivating.

Ball Park is owned by Sara Lee. They disclose all their gluten ingredients. If you don't see wheat, barley, rye or oats on the label it is safe. Here is a list of GF friendly companies that may be of use to you. _________________ -Colleen

Some of the info in that list is outdated. Stamps and envelopes - that starch is made from corn - not wheat. _________________ Al

Great! I love getting feedback. I need as much help as I can get. For the past few weeks I have been kidding myself about this gluten thing. I have been having the last chicken nugget from my kids and not really looking at everything I was eating until after I ate it. I have been lucky at choosing my food thanks to the South Beach diet. I read today about people with cd and with dh rash and that most of them aren't symptomatic but are more likely to have cancer of the small intestine... that was my wake up call. Thanks for responding so fast. The hot dogs were good, labels are starting to blur.
I also found a lot of help on the nfca website. I am finding new stuff everyday! |
