Three gallons might sound greedy, and besides people only have two hands.

Yup. And the ticket person would have to sniff each gallon of gas to be sure it's really gas and not water. By the end of it that person's genes will have probably mutated into something that will produce people with three hands, which could be a future sci-fi theater attraction. We could get Christopher Walken to star in it!

And thus the circle of off-the-wall threads comes back to the beginning. It's rather zen-like.

If a poster hijacks a thread, and no one is there to read it...is it really hijacked? Shocked

What? That we have an imagination and a sensor of humor! Heheheheehee

Colleen - love your synopsis of the epic film. When does production start?

Hey - I've been there when I lived in Denver. You might find more homies on Broadway St. Wink

No, no, no! Thanks to Al's bait and switch routine I'll be the one making all of the money due to my scantily clad pole dancing abilities!

Colleen,
Love the synopsis! What's Os' role? The intermission entertainment or can we come up with a better role for her.

Celiacmaine-iac,
I'm not sure a prosecutor would willing take on such a small case. It occurs to me that this maybe Al's first time at bringing a girl into the life. But, if he has a history of such then I'm guessing it's a different story.

Can I be the Phantom? I always thought it'd be fun to terrorize random people while trying to fight for the love of my life.

Ostrich can be the invisible crime fighting ostrich who can see through walls and dance a mambo that turns evildoers to jelly. She shall have a utility belt and ballet shoes. And legwarmers.

We must begin raising funds to make our movie. I propose a bake sale. We can make environmentally safe GF treats. We'll call it the "zero carbon emissions" fundraiser. Double portions to people who arrive by bike, on the bus or via Star Trek Transporter (I wonder what the carbon footprint is on one of those things?)

HA - bet you didn't think I could bring this back on topic. Showed you!

With Colleen - all things are possible Wink

An invisible crime fighting, legwarmer wearing Ostrich - I'm sold.

Me too! Thanks for the idea Colleen. Leg warmers are hella sexy. <3

I'll ask DH (a Trekkie) about the carbon footprint of a transporter.

OH OH!! - we need to work in Ninja Death Geese. Perhaps they can be Os' faithful and trusty side kicks? What's a super hero with a side kick? Kinda like the Green Hornet's Kato Wink

They can be the SuperBirds. Their hand signal - why flipping the bird of course! Very Happy

Here's DH's reply (probably TMI) about the carbon footprint:

My Trekkie wrote:
Haha, a carbon footprint huh? Well, first off, the main power source on a starship is its Warp Core (powered by matter/anti-matter conversion). The secondary power supply is fusion reactors (hell ya!).

Now, as far as other species go, there are some descripences. All Federation ships are powered by the above as are Klingon ships. Romulan vessels are powered by a Warp Core that has a miniture blackhole as its power source, pluse a fusion reactor or 2. Minor species ships aren't really talked about.

Borg ships are powered by an unknown power system but use Transwarp to travel from A to B. This apparently shares properties with a traditional warp core as Voyager managed to utalize one on their way home (though they had to jurry rig it to their systems).

Cardassians are believed to have similar power systems to Federation ships.

No Carbon footprint, as the conclusion to this discussion. Carbon-based fuel hasn't been used in hundreads of years in the Trek world (at least since soon after First Contact). There is no pollution from the current systems in use, even on planets.

And to placate my inner nerd, you can find more info at Memory Alpha.

I dunno about those geese. I think they might try to turn me into the sidekick.

I meant to ask about this earlier...

Why do you hate musicals Al? Just curious, because I hate them too. I think it's extremely absurd that people can be going about their life, doing regular things, like climbing stairs, having regular conversations, and then they just break out into song and dance (on the stairs, no less). I remember thinking exactly that as a little kid one day while my mother was oohing and ahhing over some stupid (IMHO) musical. And, maybe all people who hate musicals can't sing, because my father always told me I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Laughing
